A Tale of Two Cities: Business vs. Green Business

Portable e-book vs. Printed books (cont.)

Previously I have listed a number of e-books with different brands. Today, I am going to compare the pros and cons between e-books and traditional paper volumes.

This can be summaries as the following tables.

It is quite obvious, from the comparison, that e-book has got more advantages in terms of size, portability, features and durability. Personally speaking, however, I don’t think the print book market will be extinct in a foreseeable future. It is not likely that e-books will be able to completely replace print books, because print books still have several features that e-books are not able to match.

Book lovers like me will always prefer to collect books in traditional paper volumes. Indeed, print books are more tangible then e-books. I just love the smell and the sound of paper whenever I turn the page of a book. Nevertheless, with all the advantages that an e-book can offer, maybe it is worth to check it out in the future. I’ll definitely have to buy myself an e-book when I’ve got hardly any room to put my print volumes. bigsmile

I will always enjoy my books... and the bookcase, as well.
