You know you go to college/uni. when.....
Friday, December 11, 2009 4:40:13 PM
1.Your floor has or is dirty to the point that you've had to brush your feet off before putting on socks or getting into bed
2.People help you kick the vending machine so you can get your crisps that got stuck
3. You open your fridge, and what you normally see is some empty water bottles, and that's it!
4.School started before 9am, but now anything before 12pm is considered “early."
5.Weekends start on Thursday, sometimes Wednesday
6.6am is when you go to sleep, not when you wake up
7.Your idea of feeding the poor is buying yourself some noodles
8.You skip one lesson to write an essay for another
9.A canceled lesson is almost as exciting as Christmas
10.Your teachers speak English... as a second language
11.Class size doubles on exam days
12.You stay in college/uni for hours in between lessons when it's too cold to go home
13.Printers break down only when you desperately need them
14.You set your clock 10 minutes ahead so you make it to college on time, but still late sometimes
15.If you’ve got a car, waking up in the morning and having to walk or drive somewhere JUST to get your car
16.There's always a "question kid" in at least one of your lessons, and you really wish they would shut up
17.Instead of falling asleep in lesson, you stay in bed
18.You check Facebook/Myspace more than once a day.
19.Finding random people in your house is perfectly normal, you even sympathize with them
20.You discover new bruises on your body and wonder where they came from
21.You ask people what YOU did last night
22.You see people you know you’ve met but can never remember their names or how you know them
23.Looking through the post becomes an ego booster/breaker
24.Your teachers swear in class and no one cares
25.You text faster than you type
====================================
I find this to be PERFECTLY true about college life.

What's it like goin' to college in Norway?
Knut Remi "DrLaunch" Løvlidrlaunch # Friday, December 11, 2009 7:15:33 PM
Neither of these provide special student houses near or rooms in campus. Students have to find apartments near their institution themselves. Although students can turn to their institution for help finding housing.
But even so, it's not unusual to find students living together in the same apartment, while some live alone in rather modest apartments.
A lot of students party and visit pubs in their town every weekend. Very few actually use their spare time to study, at least in secondary school. The social life near educational institutions is strong as a result.
I wouldn't actually know about the life in university colleges or universities my self since I've never attended either, and got a competence certificate after working as an intern for two years. But I'm about to get some first hand experience at a university college next year.

Except, the terms "university colleges and university universities" sound really confusing to me. ... What's the difference between these two?
Oh, you're gonna go to college next year?

A university is a university like in the US, with a broad spectrum of subjects and its own research.
University college is kind of like a university, except they often specialize in a few subjects, and there's not necessarily any research going on. It's mainly a tertiary education institution.
I'm not going to college. I'm going to university college. There's a difference. Norwegian education =|= US education. But my major will probably be IT. I repeat. I'm not going to college. I'm going to a university college, which is the closest thing to a university in Norway.

Well, actually I said "go to college" because here in the US, "college" and "university" have exactly the same meaning. ... Plus, we normally say "go to college" when we want to refer to the post-high school institutions. It's kinda hard to find somebody who says "go to university" ... That sounds sorta ... "awkward",...
Anyways, as you're coming back to school, good luck!

Anyways, thank you. But I'm not sure if I'll get in, because I can't find the course they advertised earlier, which I qualified for.
