My Letter To Barbie

I know there has now been some on-going complaints about you being a negative model for young girls and for some women. You were blamed for the reason why so many young women had eating disorders in the Western World. You were also targeted for one of the reason why so many young women grew into self pity, and for the lack of confidence to the point that they've used up their money to distort themselves into you. Some might go to extreme measures believing that they could change themselves. Society worries that this madness only starts within young girls, even a lawmaker from W. Virginia thought of you to be banished! W. Virginia
I'm no science expert to say whether you're a plague to little gals. But, I just like to say that I had a pleasurable time playing with you (Legos are still the best!) I didn't think of you as my model then, I thought of you as my own baby. I've undressed/ dressed you, gave you some sink baths, did your hair, gave you a bad G.I. Jane haircut, and gave you such dialogues that were part of my imitation of my parents. My mother was my model. She was the one who nurtured me. I believed I nurtured you.
Still even if you didn't exist then, my self esteem wouldn't be any higher. It's probably an inherited trait. I'm working on it though!
Sorry for confusing you with the Skipper doll as well. I apologize for the dark make-up my aunt drew with her sharpie pen. She lived through the Grunge days. You still looked great, and I loved you just as disfigured!
