What do you all think of the mocha fraps at McDonalds???

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted here in a long time, so i thought to post something that i had on my mind for a while. This past week I had the opportunity to have a mocha frap from McDonald's and it is the best tasting thing ever, way better and cheaper than Star Bucks, I have had 5 in a week!... If you have tried it what do you think of it? if you haven't go try one!!

what type of coffee maker do you use?Mobile + Coffee Love = ?

McDonalds wasn't made for coffee, but for burgers, so I'm avoiding buying coffee at these places if it's possible.

I'll try them again, but I had hot mocha months back and it was horrid. My wife tried it a few times and said the same thing.

Nora Marie QudusSayward Friday, March 26, 2010 2:37:09 PM

I am glad it was tasty. I don't do McDonalds since I am a vegetarian. And I'd rather spend my money on good beans and stay home. But at least you are keeping the economy going :-)

I don't know if they have it here in Sweden, but I'll check once I go to a McDonalds here

studio41 Thursday, May 13, 2010 5:21:03 AM

we really enjoy them- but, I do not know what is in them! I'm certain they are loaded w/ sugar. it took me a long time to try McDonald's, because I simply do not get into fast food chains. I'm typically a cappuccino person who seasonally indulges in cold press & cream or iced mochas- but these have been our enjoyment, presently. I think they taste a bit different from Starbucks Frappuccino®, but similar to other coffeeshop blended mochas...

MilMillzy Thursday, May 20, 2010 1:33:13 PM

I love the caramel frappes. Not to keen on the mocha, it's to chalky. Nothing beats a starbucks frap though.

FightingConley Thursday, May 20, 2010 6:36:00 PM

In a word? THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY THE BEST TASTING THING EVER! See? I can't even describe them in ONE word! OK, I might be going slightly overboard... maybe. I've only tasted the caramel and I wasn't as impressed with it as I was with the mocha.

Jayintegrator Monday, June 14, 2010 11:08:55 PM

Well, I am surprised. They're pretty good. Not like McD's hot mocha's at all.

KarenNerak Monday, June 14, 2010 11:17:33 PM

down I think they're icky...but that's just me. I'm not normal in any way. scared

indah rochmawatiirothegreat Thursday, July 8, 2010 3:43:19 AM

unfortunately they don't have it here in indonesia....i wish i could try that

Pamela JacobsPamelaJ1 Friday, July 23, 2010 8:59:30 PM

personally, i think ANY mocha frap is going to be better than starbucks'.. never order the starbucks coffee without tons of flavoring;taste like melted galoshes, more than a hint of asphalt in there. mcdonald's is offering a pretty good product aat a pretty realistic price;what's not to like?,

I wonder if there are hydrogenated oils or what the 'hidden' ingredients are... if just coffee, chocolate sugar, cream, ice... that would be great!

you are a coffee addict, in your bio- you know what you like. I do find that they are very sweet- my daughter and I usually split them, and enjoy- better $$ deal than Starbucks and the flavour works for me, but there is an aftertaste I've noticed. I still wonder what is in them...

Starbucks makes me itch, have I said that before? I have to pop Clariton to make it or it feels like poison ivy.

"Coffee", in my opinion, has many facets. The taste is always #1 priority - if it doesn't taste good, nothing else matters. BUT, if it tastes good, the environment is a significant factor, again - my opinion. The comfort and ambiance contribute to the enjoyment. Cost is another factor, but low on my priority list as I don't drink coffee from a coffee shop constantly - it is a "treat" and I don't mind paying a bit more if I am going to enjoy it more.

In my opinion, McDonald's fails all criteria - except they are cheap. Starbucks tastes good, but those that provide an area to enjoy the coffee don't rate very good on comfort. The privately owned coffee shops are all unique, but many if not most, have great coffee and a very good environment to enjoy while consuming their product. cool

Has anyone tried the Mocha Joe's at Burger King? It was good until they changed their formula. sad

Freereaderfreereader Monday, February 14, 2011 3:52:36 PM

My wife's favorite coffee is what she makes herself at home, but she also likes the original cappuccino with milk and hazelnut creamer at a nearby gas station.

Adam Clarkedittoeffect Tuesday, February 15, 2011 7:15:47 AM

o i have never tried the mocha frap at mcdonalds. I do love the free refills on coffee though.

Personally, I think the new fraps at McDonald's suck. If it's gonna be coffee, shouldn't it least taste like the coffee?

lots of sugar in these... but, off and on, nice for a hot day. they've a strange after taste sometimes, though...

I try to watch the sugar, myself.

Dan Parkerparker07231974 Saturday, June 25, 2011 11:27:09 AM

For a hot day, I prefer making my own iced coffee. All custom! Strong, creamy, and with any sweetener you like.

I think the frappe is awesome but they are overprised. Speedway's is just as good and cheaper. Has anyone tried Speedways?

studio41 Friday, November 11, 2011 9:36:46 PM

I haven't. I don't think I have seen a Speedways in these parts.
