“So, tell me, where’ve you been?”
“Vacation.”
“For six months?!”
“Yep.”
There were other answers of course, and his controller knew it. But given 8’s reputation for ‘volatility’, she decided to move on.
“Well, I hope you’re rested.”
“Me too.” he replied, drumming his fingers on the cool surface of the metal desk. Aside from the chairs, it was the only other thing in the room.
This made him uncomfortable.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Her eyes narrowed, searching his.
“Nothing. You have something for me, no?”
Her eyes lingered a few seconds more before she seemingly pulled an envelope, plain brown, out of the air and slid it across the table.
“It’s all in there.”
8 nodded and stood.
“Aren't you forgetting something?”
“Not likely.” he half chuckled and walked out of the room.

I'm not sure what's up, I doubt its another adventure though. All I can say is I sat down to write and this is what came out.
