Okay, here's another peek.

I wrote this one last year about a lady that I met and became very good friends with while I was in Wyoming last year.

I hope you find it tolerable.

Who is this little girl? That my eyes behold.
Peeking through the window pane, at the world so big and bold.

Wondering if it’s safe, to go outside and play,
Or if it’s best to stay inside and grow another day.

The weather’s nice, the sun is bright, no clouds in the sky.
Perhaps today is the day, she should decide to try.

There was a day she had no fear, to step right through that door.
Then she got hurt, by those she loved and told herself “no more”.

Who is this woman? Passing by, enroute to do her chores.
Determination, such as she has, I’ve never seen before.

So much work, so little time. Who has the time to rest?
With mouths to feed and bills to pay, to be at work is best.

The day’s to short, the night is shorter.
None there to share, the weight she shoulders.

She’ll make it through, she always do, no matter what the test.
She’ll do what ‘ere she needs to do and sacrifice her rest.

Who is this lady? That’s caught my eye. She’s something else to see.
Of all the people in this world, she’s chosen to trust me.

I see her face, the smile she wears, her dimples when she grins.
She speaks to me and says my name, I’m glad she calls me “friend”.

Her eyes, her nose, her lips, her chin, the way she wears her hair.
Her beauties pure and natural, no effort needed there.

Yet all she is she doesn’t see. Her beauty? She’s unaware.
Kind and gentle, non-judgemental, the pinnacle of debonair.

Multi-faceted is this gem. That somehow I discovered.
I have no doubt, that I’ll find out. It’s a diamond I’ve uncovered.
