I Don't Want to Miss a Thing.

I often have no idea where a thought originated from for me. But this one has been in my head all day. It is a classic, imho.
Following the lyrics, for those that are interested, there is a video of an interview. During the interview, at the 3:56 mark, something is said.
I saw an interview with Ms. Warren in which she stated that it was this comment in this interview that inspired her to write this song.
Learning that gave me a whole new perspective of this song. And an even greater appreciation of the creative abilities of the songwriter.
I hope you enjoy.
Till Next Time,
Gramps

I Don't Want To Miss A Thing
Songwriters: Diane Eve Warren
I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure
Don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you the sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby and I don't want to miss a thing
Lying close to you feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes and thank God we're together
I just wanna stay with you in this moment forever, forever and ever
I don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you the sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby and I don't want to miss a thing
I don't wanna miss one smile, I don't wanna miss one kiss
I just wanna be with you, right here with you, just like this
I just want to hold you close, feel your heart so close to mine
And just stay here in this moment for all the rest of time
Don't wanna close my eyes, don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you the sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby and I don't want to miss a thing
I don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby and I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you the sweetest dream would never do
I'd still miss you baby and I don't want to miss a thing
I don't wanna close my eyes, I don't wanna fall asleep
Yeah, I don't wanna miss a thing

With that said, the sentiment conveyed is lovely; however, I have a hard time getting past my personal dislike of Barbara Streisand. She's got a beautiful voice, but her politics are diametrically opposed to mine... probably.

I just copied and pasted the code you had posted over the old code, so I'm really not sure if it changed any thing or not.
As far as Babs goes, the post is meant to be about the lyrics and poetry of the song. As well as the inspiration and talent of the song writer. A comment that Babs made just happened to be the source of that inspiration, in this particular instance.
Technically I guess it was Jimmy who was the original source of inspiration. And you "probably" thought he was hot on Marcus Welby M.D.
But I also agree that there are many talented entertainers out there whom I could enjoy the work of much more if they would keep their politics to themselves.

Never knew how it came about.
Interesting.

Dale, sorry I haven't commented before, I've just had a lot of things going on and didn't get around to it till tonight. I think I'm going to try to find the song on YouTube---I might remember the melody. Many times I know a song by it's music but not its' words or title.
I remember how skeptical I was when I heard about this romance, and then that they were to marry. This marriage was given 2 minutes by someone, can't remember who, but someone like Whoopi Goldberg or one of The View stinkers.
Are they STILL married? Have heard nothing about them in forever.

Aha! Aerosmith. One of my favorite groups. They really do ballads very well. This was beautiful. Thanks for sharing, Dale.

No need to apologize there. I know, from reading the updates, that you spend a lot of time just trying to keep up with the comments on your own posts. Add in your writing of new post, visiting the post of friends and then there is that whole tinkering with code thing that you like to do.....whew, this just became a full time job, with overtime, for you.
But thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment.
Just know that you are welcome to stop by anytime you can.

Any suggestions? I am really uneducated on most of this computer stuff. I do run Windows XP, and I do all of my OC stuff through my Opera browser or Mini Opera if I am on my iTouch.

Actually, I am spending more time away than I have been. I love having my friends and visitors talk to me and have fun on my blog, but it's true that I started having a bit of trouble keeping up. I used to stay at it until I had gone through every notification, but now, I just can't. I always have many left over till the next day.
And I do spend a lot of time on my computer learning new Linux stuff. I'm subscribed to your blog now, so I'll be notified anytime you have a new post or new comments.
