Continental Kennel Club
They say that a dog can be a person's best friend. Your dog is special and different from your neighbor's dog. There are so many different breeds available and each needs specialized care. The Continental Kennel Club is an organization that can help you discover what special needs your dog has, and how to have a closer, more enriching bond.
The Continental Kennel Club was founded in 1991 under the ideas that dog owners needed a way to keep track of their dogs ancestry and progeny. Today, the CKC offers a wide variety of informational materials, events and canine-related products and services.
Your dog's breed was originally purposeful. Whether it was a breed created specifically for hunting or for some form of labor, your dog has inherent skills. Every dog is happier if they have "work"; that is to say, if your dog lives a busy and purposeful life, the will be happier. The CKC believes that dog owners should embrace and nurture their pet's special skill. Being able to nurture your pet means understanding what makes your pet special and what many years of breeding has resulted in.
The CKC can also be helpful in deciding what breed of dog is best for your family. If you have a sedimentary lifestyle, for example, a dog that requires a lot of attention and play time will not be a great fit. If you are very active, a lazy dog wouldn't fit well either. The CKC can help you find the best dog for your family.
