I purchased a dedicated server from a very well known company (name disclosed), but it barely even lasted a week, since the support was terrible and the knowledge of the technicians were extremely limited. I had to find another solution after my sites + the sites of 6 of my clients were down.



Rackforce was the ultimate solution. I've always known about them, since I have a client whom has a dedicated server with them. It's always been a pleasure to work on their servers and the support was inexplicably fast, helpful and knowledgeable. Problem was...I had doubt about VPS (Virtual Private Servers)

VPS :


A VPS is a virtual private server which is basically part of a dedicated server, meaning...you share a dedicated server with 3 - 9 other people. Even though this is the case, you still have your own root folder, seperate apache, php, mysql, etc... installations and so on. You have the ability to do everything with your VPS that you would usually do with a dedicated server. All of this, thanks to SWSoft's Virtuozzo.



So I decided to give the VPS a go. I haven't looked back a single moment yet. I experienced some minor issues along the way due to my own stupidity (such as when I was trying to install zend optimizer from the ssh terminal as root and it messed up my php.ini file) and lack of knowledge. The support is practically instant and the support staff is amazingly friendly and helpful.
