Quiet Strength...

At first glance, one might think to themselves, "If she was trying to capture a shot of that seagull, I'd say she missed the ferry." This would very well ring true, had it been the photographers intent to capture Mr. Gull on his resting place. This photo was taken down at the Hudson River, which is 20 minutes from my home.
I often meander along the waters edge when the day's events have left me feeling a bit discombobulated. As my thoughts wandered and my feet aimlessly ambled along, I happened upon this (what I call) artistic fixture. A thought quickly came to mind as I stood for a moment taking in the the quiet strength of the message that these few pillars of wood seemed to be conveying. "There is strength in adversity" they whispered. Though the billowing waves of tempesting storms, seemingly, endlessly batter and scorn, I stand! The continuous beating against my still small frame, has failed to leave me hopelessly maimed, I stand! Yes, many a storm has reared its ugly head on quite a few occasions, but I'm no worse off for it. When the flood gates open and the water rushes in, I hear the still small voice of the pylon as it whispers, "This too shall pass" and I stand!
