Naomi 12. October 2008, 20:18

@Mark, I totally agree!

@Angeliki I just knew someone would notice that the word "kinky" is showing up a lot on my blog. So what does that say about the author of this blog?

Show your daughter. It's G-rated & funny!

Angeliki 12. October 2008, 20:44

Angeliki 12. October 2008, 20:45

Naomi 12. October 2008, 23:48

Maybe it's not a bad idea to protect her from this nutty world.

Mark 13. October 2008, 01:17

"...Are we not doing the talent portion?"

Matthew 13. October 2008, 02:38

Man, that was hilarious. "John McCain has tapped me." The sly dog.

She had a rough go at the Philadelphia Flyers' game the other night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXNetpeu_mk

Tyler Parke Young 13. October 2008, 05:17

Does this mean he didn't have sex with that woman?banana

Jenny 13. October 2008, 08:13

This video is great.

Naomi 13. October 2008, 14:24

Glad to amuse everyone among the serious economic & political news.

Matt, I hear they booed her! That's what you get when you show up in a situation where it's not just your party there to support you.

Naomi 13. October 2008, 14:29

Matt, just watched that video & it warmed my heart.

So Mr. Researcher Extraordinaire, where does the tradition of booing coming from?

Angeliki 13. October 2008, 15:48

Naomi, till you know more about booing,
please allow me to add here:
since booing was very common in "agora" Ancient Greece
we are partially proud sponsors of the Palin booing

Matthew 13. October 2008, 17:06

Booing has been around for ages - probably dating ot ancient Greece, as Angeliki said.

It's traditional at the opera, along with passionately wild applause for a steallar performance. It's not viewed as "cool" at the opera anymore, though - Opera is for the rich, these days, and the rich are not so uncouth as to show displeasure by booing or jeering.

Angeliki 13. October 2008, 17:21

Actually I go to the Opera and I am not rich,

now days Opera singers are far from the performers participating in the time killer Operas called "intermezzi".

btwn the first and second session of a Renaissance, Roman plays the entertainment of a princess was in order by Opera singers.

The crowd wasn't fond of them and booing was the easier reaction,

to the actors dismay that had to change costumes and at times even play roles of the opposite sex that required extra make up...

Angeliki 13. October 2008, 17:53

Naomi 13. October 2008, 18:04

Thanks, Angeliki. That is a seriously hot Persian body!

I like the "Greeks for Obama" button!

Tyler Parke Young 13. October 2008, 18:51

Opera is a great replacement for a sleep-aid.

Angeliki 13. October 2008, 20:51

you are welcome Naomi,
he has to convince us it is his!

the game has just began!

Naomi 13. October 2008, 21:20

Tyler Parke Young 13. October 2008, 21:22

Yes, and the devil take the hindmost!

Phantom2 13. October 2008, 23:59

Naomi 14. October 2008, 02:25

Happy to have been of service (i.e. made people smile). Will try to do so more often.

Tyler Parke Young 14. October 2008, 12:10

On ward into Tuesday morning!:coffee:

Matthew 14. October 2008, 13:01

Once more into the breach, dear friend.

Matthew 14. October 2008, 13:24

Naomi, I had to resubscribe ot your blog - again. I just realized there are a bunch of posts of which i was never notified. Crikey!

Naomi 14. October 2008, 14:04

Matt, I know, Opera is determined to break up our merry little band of...whatever we are. lol

It happens all the time with Angeliki's blog as well. :frown:

Matthew 14. October 2008, 14:16

I resubscribe to hers too, from time to time.

Keeps me on my toes - sort of.

lorena aguilar 14. October 2008, 15:58

thats kinda mean, well what can i say jajaja

Naomi 14. October 2008, 16:36

Tyler Parke Young 14. October 2008, 18:29

Various governments are watching us. You can count on it. They do those little harrasement things to let you know they are watching.:alien:

Naomi 14. October 2008, 21:34

Well I will certainly bore them to death, poor sods.

Tyler Parke Young 14. October 2008, 22:03

Well, they are screwed up, and I don't mind letting them know just how I feel. They had better quit screwing around with the ballots.:raider:

Angeliki 15. October 2008, 00:28

if they are watching ,
then I am sure they know by now we are all watching them too.....

the more I see the less I care about their opinion

Tyler Parke Young 15. October 2008, 02:12

I have had to resubcribe to my OWN site. Opera 9.6 refuses to remember my passwork.

Tyler Parke Young 15. October 2008, 02:13

I have had to resubcribe to my OWN site. Opera 9.6 refuses to remember my password.

Matthew 15. October 2008, 02:17

Well, that's a load of crap.

Tyler Parke Young 15. October 2008, 02:20

I mean, I can remember my screen name and passwork ok, but I sure miss just punching in on the "majick wand".

Matthew 15. October 2008, 02:26

I never use the magic wand, and I never have to log in. The password manager just takes care of it for me. I wonder what's up for you?

Tyler Parke Young 15. October 2008, 02:32

Maybe the secret government is trying to harrass me. No, that ain't it, these Opera people pushed 9.6 out to fast, and it has bugs in it.

Matthew 15. October 2008, 02:50

I haven't had much trouble, even with the beta. The mail reader has been a little quirky, but I still love it.

Tyler Parke Young 15. October 2008, 02:55

Well, they have me hooked, so what am I going to do? Put up with it.

Matthew 15. October 2008, 02:58

lol

It still beats the alternatives.

Tyler Parke Young 15. October 2008, 03:01

I have been looking at other "social networks", but I ain't got the time to be on more than one.

My uncle is hooked on "second life". Sometimes he blogs until four in the AM.

Matthew 15. October 2008, 03:14

I've been in others. This is the first I've found that is "adult" in the sense that people are mature, not all looking to hook up, and able to form sentences that don't use letters to replace words.

I haven't been in Second Life, but I've beta tested a couple of other avatar-based systems, and they frustrate me.

Tyler Parke Young 15. October 2008, 12:08

Did you ever play a game called "Everquest"? It was very popular a few years ago. It burned me out on moving an avatar around.

OMG U SND MSG 2 PPL?

Matthew 15. October 2008, 12:27

StFu, aBbrEvIaTiOn uSiNg oLd fArT!

I stayed out of Everquest, thank heavens. I know muy personality well enough to know I'll get sucked into that sort of thing - even if i hate the avatar action.

Tyler Parke Young 15. October 2008, 12:30

I much prefer stratagy games. My favorite at the moment is "Risk II". I play it everyday, at least once.

Naomi 15. October 2008, 13:26

I agree with Matt that no matter how damned exasperating Opera is due to their little "issues", this is the only social networking site with people this smart, international, creative that I've found. I use linked in, Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, & blogger to pimp CultureSurfer, but this is the only site where I'm in a lot of contact with people.

So I guess Opera has us by the you-know-what's.

Haven't tried Opera 9.6. Should I, or will I just end up having a hizzy over the bugs?
