Dr. John v. Kampen 24. December 2008, 20:59

Let us remain optimistical! Give this a chance/change!

Naomi 24. December 2008, 21:36

Angeliki, let's hope you are right!

Davce, I knew you'd appreciate that pic.

John, hope you are right as well.

Happy Holidays to all of you! flirt

Angeliki 24. December 2008, 22:20

happy Holidays to all!

scott cumming 24. December 2008, 22:28

we can see he's a good man. now let's hope he's an effective man. we sure could use a change.

Matthew 25. December 2008, 03:49

He has higher confidence ratings than any president elect since before Nixon. That's pretty astounding. Higher even than Reagan. That's a good sign, I think.

Anna Maria 26. December 2008, 17:17

Wellll... am I wrong or is he the best looking US president so far?... Hmmm! Hope he`s more than a nice appearance...

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Angeliki 26. December 2008, 18:31

best looking ?? hmmmmmmm
I think Barack is too thin
sorry Naomi,

I like men to be good eaters ,
see... I love to cook

slackwrdave 26. December 2008, 18:39

I think Barack is too thin

Lol, I like them to look like they are minutes away from expiring. :D

160 lbs. (73 kilos) is nearly obese.

Of course the above guidelies do not apply to my body. p:

Angeliki 26. December 2008, 18:45

awww Dave,
why I am not surprised ??
I guess I am overwelmed with too many left overs and I am looking for men that can appreciate a good Greek Lasagna ! p:

You look wonderful!

Naomi 26. December 2008, 19:14

I'd say he's definitely the best-looking one so far, although Kennedy wasn't bad, either. As for the rest of them...well, politicians aren't exactly known for their looks.

Hope everyone is surviving the holidays with their relatives.

Angeliki 26. December 2008, 19:21

I did hear that JFK was too lazy in bed :D

hi Naomi,
since I have no relatives in the USA,
I can smile and say ,"it was great!!"
having a quiet home again it is great too!

Angeliki 26. December 2008, 19:29

PS
Franklin Pierce was a very good looking man,old pictures are not very flatering and you can see he was handsome!

if I have to choose btwn JFK , Clinton and Regan,
I will go with the last at Baracks age....Regan was hot (looking at his old movies) and he had charisma like Clinton does...

Dr. John v. Kampen 26. December 2008, 19:51

... or cigars?

Naomi 26. December 2008, 20:44

Clinton wasn't bad when he was still slim but Regan? Blech!!!

That's ok, if we didn't all have different taste, we'd all be fighting over the same men!

So who said Kennedy was lazy in bed? Didn't he have some health issues?

slackwrdave 26. December 2008, 21:31

Kennedy was lazy in bed?

It seems like I heard that he once vanished for a period of time with the briefcase with the missle launch codes in them while on a tryst. That would be hard to explain to mama when getting back, if mama was still there, or anything was still there. Was that a fictional cold war tragicomedy, or did it really happen?

"Son, you're grounded!" p:

Angeliki 26. December 2008, 21:35

exactly,
medication is not helping much and the man had a pill for everything! I wonder if his time with "the sexiest woman of all times" gave him a kick after all!

PS
you are very right about men,
I love men in their 40s and with a good appetite! :D no smoking no alcohol no drugs no medications
I had all in of them in my Santa list but instead
I got a Gucci bag and Coach sunglasses!
I guess they are the closest sub p:

chocolates too !

scott cumming 26. December 2008, 22:56

"lazy in bed" was probably a jackie quote.
as long as we are gossiping and fantastic imagination is coloring the conversation, i would like to offer my guess... jackie was frigid. frigid but dutiful... now, who can blame a man for getting it over quick when he is not appreciated.

Matthew 26. December 2008, 23:15

"Lazy in bed" is an interesting description of a man who had agents to procure women for him when he would visit cities outside of Washingotn DC (presumably when he wasn't traveling with Jackie).

Angeliki 26. December 2008, 23:33

@meli,
speaking of "dutiful" and since we are in a joke mood in my todays post.... here is a dudiful wife joke:

Man and woman been married for 30 years and slept in twin beds in the same room.

One eve, the old Husband gets a bit horny, says to the wife 'Hunny bunny, come and join me in my bed darling'

Dutiful wife, gets out of bed, walks across the room, on the way over, she trips on the mat, the husband is very sympathetic towards the woman, 'Oh Honey Bunny, Baby have you hurt yourself? oh Sweet pea, come over here and I will kiss it better' so the woman slides into the old mans bed and they get it on as you do.

When the old couple had done 'their deed', the woman dutifully got out of bed to return to her own bed.

On the way back, she tripped over the mat again, the Husband responded with 'Are you fvcking stupid or something?'

scott cumming 26. December 2008, 23:44

oh that's hard meli, that's so hard.
i know i have told you many times that men are not always alike.

Angeliki 26. December 2008, 23:53

meli,
when I hear the word "dutiful", I can not help it...
"i have told you many times"
and I keep loving hearing it!

scott cumming 27. December 2008, 00:13

if men could control themselves they would be the woman's heart's desire as long as they had a true cherishing of their choice (the woman). but the vagaries of fate often subvert even the best of intentions.
i think the best of women love their man so much that they will always love them irregardless of their mistakes or divergencies.

so many stories in the world of broken marriages due to the fatal possessiveness of either partie. that is what duty means to me, the dharma of the pledge of marriage, through better or for worse, and i add, tested, to still cleave to who you promised to love forever. i know... sounds corny these days.

so, if you really love someone, why would you let it be destroyed by fantasy and negative imagination? a very serious question.

slackwrdave 27. December 2008, 00:56

On the way back, she tripped over the mat again, the Husband responded with 'Are you fvcking stupid or something?

This one's a keeper ellinidata. Thank ya!

Angeliki 27. December 2008, 01:27

yes its a serious question meli,
I will just add a few thoughts instead of trying to answer..
I never had a broken marriage and I do not qualify to answer by any means..
I will speak of love that does not
die no mater what...

there is love that never ends meli,
it can be possible only when one serrenders to the other & drops the ego, and the control....and only keeps his/her dignity and self respect ..

sometimes is the love for a person that is not present any longer,
that can be a fantasy too :frown:,

sometimes is the love for a man that is commited and your paths met but the reality will never change, then the dignity has to take over,

sometimes you love a man that represents more that a partner,he can be a father figure or a friend...

You only can love for ever the father/mother of your kids since you see that partner in them daily...

relationships will be tested always no mater what the kind of love a woman has to a man...and the spoiler is always the "ego".

So I would say to women out there,
let love come into your life, and drop the ego, the time will come that you will serrender and thats a feeling that is priceless for life...

this is for you meli,
for bringing up such an important issue
(listen to the words...)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cl9axmrFnEc

Looking at Barack and his wife you see that they are both strong individuals but at the same time one makes the other look smart and that's very important...

Angeliki 27. December 2008, 01:29

@ Dave,
you are always welcome for more in my neck of the woods

Angeliki 27. December 2008, 01:34

@ Naomi,
sorry I did take your post to a different direction,
you know Ed and myself ,
we can not help it no mater what to spice things up,I am suprised he did not show up yet....
:star:
thanks for the hospitality

scott cumming 27. December 2008, 01:53

"and the spoiler is always the "ego"."
brilliant observation meli.

i would be surprised if naomi would object to converstions within her post. but yes, where is ed?

Angeliki 27. December 2008, 02:06

i did not see him since 12n... I guess he is getting lucky! p:
or he is in Idaho buying his tabacco! I know he will be happy with either one of them ! :D

Angeliki 27. December 2008, 02:14

PS
I would be suprised too if Naomi objects! we post babysit for free here!

Naomi 27. December 2008, 14:39

No way would I object! What a cool surprise to wake up to. I swear I have the coolest, smartest people on Opera on my blog! :D :queen:

Angeliki 27. December 2008, 16:30

:o:

have a great day

Naomi 27. December 2008, 19:48

Same to you & I'm glad Santa (is there a Greek Santa?) brought you some cool stuff. :D

Angeliki 27. December 2008, 20:04

it is St. Nicolas (the original Santa that started it all.....)

we celebrate him the 1st of the year and
we open our presents on that day
for a "good luck through all year long"...

so, to answer the question,
yes, Santa was Greek too but we are the sharing type !
Naomi, for jokes and recipes
see my two last posts...

for recipes at the end of the "Merry Xmas to my Opera family"

and

for jokes
in the "Jokes for Adults only " :D ...

kisses to Delia,

hugs to Big Bird

Angeliki 29. December 2008, 02:11

if he let us down with the way the economy is,
I hope you are willing to share that hardhat!!! I have the same feeling with you meli,
he got us all to trust him, I wonder what he thinks before he goes to bed at night! (other than Michele of course  )

scott cumming 29. December 2008, 03:10

he thinks he has a job to do.

Naomi 30. December 2008, 00:59

My intuition tells me he's going to accomplish much more than my rational mind says is possible. My intuition is almost always right, so let's hope it's right this time.

scott cumming 30. December 2008, 01:42

he may even surprise us all...

twinkle 31. December 2008, 23:34

PainterWoman 1. January 2009, 16:40

Naomi, my intuition tells me the same. He is a determined man. I can see it in his face and hear it in every word he speaks.

Naomi 1. January 2009, 19:28

Let's hope we're both right. Happy New Year. :hat:
