Strange messages

, ,

Due to site re-design #5 (in 10 months), too many meetings, too much filming, & too much editing, I haven't had much time for Opera. But I wanted to take a moment to share some interesting private messages I've received recently before deleting them.

Eternal life? Cool! (But I'd better get a very good plastic surgeon lined up.)
"HELLO MOM

I WANT YOU TO BE MY MOTHER FRIEND I NEED YOU MORE THAN YOU THINK, MOM, MY NAME IS JUSTICE DOGO, AM JUST A REFEGEE BUT I WANT YOU AS A MOTHER. I DONT HAVE ANY MOTHER OR FATHER LIVIN TO CALL THEM MY PARENT BUT I BELIEVE IN GOD THAT ONE DOAY HE WILL TURN MY CRY AND MY SORROW INTO HAPPINESS. I CALL OPEN THE HOLY SPIRY TO PROTECT YOU EVERY WERE YOU ARE AND HIS MERCY SHALL BE ON YOU FOREVER. YOU SHALL LIVE TO SEE YOUR GRAND CHILDREN AND ALSO FILL WHAT EVER YOU WANT ON THIS EARTH BEFORE THE END OF THIS WORLD. MOMY, I DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY, BUT I WISH YOU LONG AND ENTENAL LIFE.

Hi Naomi,
I read these messages.
Then I read them again.
And then a third time.
After which I sat back,
an awestruck expression on
my face, and heard myself
murmuring "Far out!"

:D

That is a come on from Nigeria. It is not real, just gangsters trying to get money out of you. They have come at me twice now. I wasn't signed up to Opera for a day and they hit me. Beware.

@Captivevet-I am well-aware of the Nigerian scams. I've posted them before.

@Amir-I'm jealous. I thought I was the only one.

@Loku-"Far out." :lol:

Well, that is the world isn't it? As old Reagan once said: "Trust but verify...".

In case of doubt, press the blue button "By ....." to see if an anonymous has been banned perhaps... So we get to know quickly that Captivet likes Brussels Sprouts, just like me...:chef: Trust but verify, indeed!

Actually I don't like Brussel Sprouts. They always seem to be overcooked.

Buy some fresh ones, Captivet. Those that I know are crispy green and taste excellent with boiled patatoes and an original Dutch meatball!

Jokes aside: http://my.opera.com/sundararajanrk/about/ is your friend, Naomi...!
Maybe he must change Babelfish for some different translator?!

Es ist gut hier zu sein und die Schiffe zu sehen... becomes:
It is to be and the ships to be seen well here…

Yeah, crispy...not over cooked. On every site everyone is talking about food right now. Wierd.

Yes, Angeliki already was trying to have me prepare some Zatziki, where I only have some knowledge of making wine... We eat too much, don't you think?

I am on a "see food" diet. I see food and then I eat it. Yeah, I think that perhaps humans tend to eat to much, when they can.

I love brussel sprouts roasted until they are slightly browned in salt & olive oil.

My only food issue is chocolate, a bit of an addiction which Angeliki, among other women, share.

I guess I shouldn't comment on the above, except to say that cancer took my Aunt Mary last November.

By Captivevet, # 18. July 2008, 12:23:08

That spam has absolutely nothing to do with people dying from cancer. I am sure every person who has read this post has personally lost someone to cancer.

The spam is about someone preying on the good will of others to rip them off.
