While I sit here (Part 1 of 2)

, , , ...

I'm sitting here listening to music while my children take their naps. We already had a good day and it's only 1:30p.m. in the afternoon. Here's how we got here from the rest of the week:

Monday Mary and I went to the dentist early to have our teeth checked and cleaned. Mary only goes once every six months. I have to go every three because of the previous throat illness that is mostly gone, but pops up every now and then. It's like when you yawn and overextend your mouth and it locks in place. Imaging having that AND strepp throat for two years and you can begin to see the amount of pain I was in. A LOT of prayer and petitioning to God helped get me through. (Thank you out there that prayed for me!).

Tuesday Saw a full day's worth of work. My boss RH worked virtually and I'm thankful for people that are willing to help me (Thanks JR and TB and the new guy). The family and I ate dinner and then watched SciFi's Eureka! and Big Brother All Stars (a.k.a BB7). Nothing too exciting happened. Then we went to bed.

Wednesday The boss was back at work and all went well. If I remember right, I got all the jobs assigned to me completed before I left for the day. Later that evening the sitter (kids call her mamma) said Mary Grace did well and so she went to her Rainbows meeting at church. She had fun and then afterwards she went to the library for a 1/2 hour. Meanwhile, Mark and I had a great time with "Boys night in". We played balls, he colored for awhile, and we ate some cheese and scarfed a couple of cookies from the wife's freshly baked pile! Shhhhh, don't say a word about it. I DID, however, pay for that little enjoyment the next morning with my bloodsugar levels being elevated.

Thursday Worked my tail off all day at work, but didn't feel like I accomplished anything. I left work with several open tickets and some unresolved issues. We ate dinner at an EXCELLENT chineese buffet. It's call "Eastland Buffet". They have the typical faire at the bar where you serve yourself. The best part is they have a little grill to the side where you fill your plate with raw veggies and meat. You hand that to the gentleman behind the grill and he stir fries it right there and hands it back to you when done. It's all part of the menu at no extra charge. I would recommend going there at lunch for your first time because dinner is $3.25 more per person at dinner. It's well worth it, though.

Friday It was EXTREMELY depressing at work. I cleared up all the problems from Thursday by 10:30 and then only got 1 system out the door the rest of the day. We're back into Famine mode. We always said that it's either feast for famine at work. The boss did state we have a 200 system project coming up soon. I hope we get it soon. Last night we went to Frisch's Big Boy and then Carrie took me home where Mark and I went in. Carrie took Mary to Wal-mart to get sized for pads and helmet for the bike she's getting for her birthday. When the got home, we watched Stargate and Atlantis while we surfed the net. Then we went to bed. Mark woke us up this morning.

Saturday Today is turning out superb! The temperatures are down. The sun's out and a slight summer breeze flows. The only way it would be better is if we lived in the country in a small town. Slow pace and tranquil peace. Ahhhh, I still remember my teenage years where that was the life. It's just different. My heart yearns to go back to a simpler time. However, I digress. We all got up and went to the Farmer's market in Canal Winchester, Ohio. We found a little hole in the wall restraunt called the Wigwam. I had the two eggs, ham, home fries, and english muffin. Excellent! The store is made up like a old 50's style restraunt with a wooden indian at the front door. It was cash only, but thankfully Carrie had take some money out yesterday while shopping for Mary. My only complaint was they allow smoking and sometimes I have problems breathing it. It wasn't bad today, though. When we left there we went shopping at the market and bought some veggies and bread for this coming Tuesday (Mary's 5th birthday). It was awesome to watch Mary be intriqued by the water fountain the had as well as all of the people walking around. She was pretty well behaved. Only had 2 behaviour issues that were resolved quickly. Mark was happy just watching people. Carrie picked up some red potatoes, green beans, lettuce, and a loaf for homemade bread. Then we came home and the kids went down for their naps. When they wake, we'll be eating dinner and heading for Slate Run park for the birthday party for Mung and Mary. We're combining their birthdays now so it's less of a hassle. Well, I'm getting sleepy, so I thing I better take a nap while listening to Mannheim Steamroller Fresh Aire 7. Look for part 2 of this catchup later.
