Materials of Time

Soon is the time now

Upon this hill I have sung many dreams
To have them as one it took time to see
A place inside myself that matched the one seen
Upon this hill I have sung many dreams
Still sitting here like yesterday was near
Yet in this presence it is much more real
Upon this hill I have sung many dreams
To have them as one it took time to see

"Upon this hill I have sung many dreams"
A powerful piece of narrative, and a good opening to this well written work.

"To have them as one it took time to see"
A fitting and profound line that aptly ends your blank verse poem. Well done!

How well you make me feel with this small sentence is beyond the words that you and I use. Thank you!

Keep on writing. Your ability, your gift is so apparent. You enrich others lives with your words. I remember reading an inscription, written in latin, decades ago. I was working aboard one of the last of the great deep sea Ocean going passenger liners. I remember looking up at the words that decorated the door to the liner's library. The words said

"VITA SINE LITERUS MORS EST"
..... "LIFE WITHOUT WORDS IS DEATH"

Down the years I have never forgotten that saying. We can take words and then weave them into garments that all the world may wear. Such things last for ever.
