Enjoying Normal Days

Balance is in mind
Earth orbits clock hands rotate
August days the sun at eight

Enjoying stillness
Moonbeams stars opening night
Movement permeates the time

you are welcome. is this a special sort of poetry? I notice you have done many in this sort of stanza.

By studio41, # 16. August 2008, 03:38:55

This form is called Sedoka. Actually each of these stanzas (katauta 5,7,7) is a part of whole story I work on now. It begins with first entry, and I am up to here now. Last word of each previous entry begins next entry. This I just do to keep continuation. Thank you so much for your nice words!

Your poetry and photography is so beautiful! I mean really beautiful and such wonderful thoughts you convey effortlessly.

Thanks Cynthia. I appreciate it.

Regarding your poetry, there are other forms you use, too, I noticed on your pages, right?

Thank you so much for inquiring - really thanks! Your poetry is so fantastic. I really appreciate your interest in my writing! The following is a partial list of the style or form used on my page here within OC.

"Together Orbiting Time" is sort of a Ghazal poem. However, it does not keep the inline rhyme, so technically it is not.

"Day in the Forest," "Day Dreams,” "Thankful," “Light is Graceful," and "Album? listen (please to the good music)" is a form of a Telugu poem. Its form is from India. It is called a Naani. Although, I do keep syllable count correct. I do stray from strict subject; but upon further looking into each word, I do maintain one thought. It is just somewhat obscure within piece.

"Enchantment" is an Acrostic poem.

"A Blink of an Eye," "Way past a pot of coffee," and "Day at Night" are only attempts at haiku.

"Peeling away the moments ..." is a Senryu. It has the same syllable count as a haiku.

"Raindrops into Sunshine" is a Minute poem. Also it is sort of Acrostic poetry being that part of the name is also the first letter of each line (almost).

"Soon is the time now" is the poetic form called a Triolet. This is one of my favorites I placed here on the OC. The rock in the picture is one that I have been picnicking on, exercising on and sitting watching the creek down below since I could first walk.

"Gave way to being human ..." is a Lanturne.

"Fallen Tree" is an Etheree.

Thanks again!

Could you provide the link to "album" so I can hear the music? I looked but it is eluding me... you must study poetry? You are very learned in the types and styles. Wow! I will look forward to spending more time reading your work. Thank you for sharing with me. And many thanks for your kind words.

You are so kind. Thank you.

The album I refer to is a really great group here inside the OC called "365 Photos." You take one photo a day and post it. This is the link http://my.opera.com/365/albums/show.dml?id=499501 to my album there.

The songs I refer to are on the side of my page under the "Good Music." The first song "Aint No Reason" is a playlist containing all the songs in this category. (SIDE NOTE: I have been given permission from each artist and/or publisher to post the links here.)

Also, I must say something about the music on your page. It is beautiful. I have listened many times. It is so delicate and lifts your mood instantly. I also must go to your page and read more.

Thank you, Cynthia. I am delighted that it lifts your mood! I will look at these links. Now tell me more about the music, you needed permission to post links? I need to get educated more here because I post YOUTUBE and playlists all the time...

By studio41, # 19. August 2008, 04:46:06

avatar
You're welcome. Well, I don't know what the copyright rules are for posting links. However, I choose to get permission. I feel more comfortable doing this especially since I am not just posting a link in an entry. These songs and art moments are a permenant fixture of my page layout. Wishing you a good day!

By Cynthia23, # 19. August 2008, 10:20:14

avatar
So, then, you only use links that have been posted by the artist him/herself? You have a good evening, Cynthia.

By studio41, # 19. August 2008, 22:09:10

avatar
Just the links that are under the good music and art moments that are on the side bar. I just do it to be nice. Some of the links are not by the actual artist but their record company or producer of the video. It's just my way, may be not always the best way, but it's me!

Wishing you a great evening also, Jill.

thanks for the info, I've been wondering about protocol and what is legal, etc., don't understand that YOUTUBE or playlist deal. I see one playlist co. I've used is now paying royalties for streams... but the other one is still up and running without that feature. hmmm. I guess time will iron it all out. very good and thank you!
