Discovery is Seeing What Everyone Else Has Seen

And Thinking What Nobody Else Has Thought

Trust, How Does It Feel?

I wonder, is it me, or is trustworthy people becoming a dying breed? I repeatedly put my trust in those closest to me (of both the male and female persuasion) and am repeatedly disappointed.

I refuse to go the generic route and not trust again, to punish the next person for someone else's mistakes. Is it too much to ask for someone that I can trust ? Implicitly trust, with anything and everything? Is the world today so corrupt that a shoulder to lean on in a time of need is becoming increasingly absent? Is EVERYONE out there simply looking out for themselves , being greedy and selfish?

I don't want to live my life in fear of trusting those close to me, that would be horrible, but who can I trust? I so often find that I have to lick my own wounds, why can't I just lie under someone's wing, at least once, just once I would like to feel totally safe, totally at ease, openly talking about my fears and regrets, with no fear of reprieve. Is that too much to ask?

I think much depend of who you choose to trust. You can't just pick someone and give him/her all of your life-story you know! :yikes:

I've asked myself the same question many times...

Dark One 30. January 2008, 08:29

M&M i am aware of that, yes. I am not that gullible and naive, even people I never doubted betrayed my trust.

ymie 30. January 2008, 12:04

Can you trust the girl that you love?

Dark One 30. January 2008, 12:07

no i cant, she will lie to me just to keep me happy

ymie 30. January 2008, 14:25

well, if she loves you so much that she wants you to be happy, than may be it will be good to try to explain her that you will be much happier if she will tell you what she really thinks.
To be happy with someone - we should talk to him. You can not expect that a person will realize by himself what you need. We all are different.

Dark One 30. January 2008, 14:26

i dont know Ymie. who do you trust?

ymie 30. January 2008, 14:36

my boyfriend. He is my best friend, he shares my hobbies. We spend together all our free time. We talk about all our problems which we have. We give each other advices. And this is my closest person in the whole world. We trust each other. And we are together for 8 years already.

Dark One 30. January 2008, 14:49

The next time you go to the bar or have something you have to do ask one of your friends if it's a bar tell them which bar, make sure it's one they know is boring if they go, they are going for you. Make a habbit out of the place then you know you will have a real friend. When they drop there stuff to help you they'll follow you to the end of the world and beyond.

Dark One 3. February 2008, 14:54

how now?

crash 3. February 2008, 15:14

Just think about it, if you can just get people to follow you a few times they will think of you as there leader, just like a dog they will follow you anywhere. Being that they follow you you'll then have someone to depend on when you need it, after all the dog is man's best friend.

Dark One 3. February 2008, 15:17

great logic, just a pity its complete bullshit. people arent dogs, and i dont want followers, i want to be able to trust someone implicitly WH, sum1 who will tell me if they disagree with something i do

crash 3. February 2008, 16:02

Im just trying to say it in the easyist way I can think of. I only used dogs as an example because there easy for most people to relate to( mans best friend, they protect you put a smile on your face enjoy ur company like doing stuff with you. etc.) Haven't you ever had a dog? I didn't mean for it to sound like they be nothing more than followers either everyone has an opion and being there your friends to begin with all it would to is bring you closer, more like family. Chances are they'd be more likely to tell you if what your gonna do is a bad idea, or a good idea. I apolagize for the wording never was good at using the right words.

Dark One 3. February 2008, 16:13

i have had a dog and speaking to you reminds me of a time i had to de-flea my dog. thanks for the sentiment though.

Changing Woman 3. February 2008, 17:45

your not alone in feeling that...the world no longer is a safe place...an the joy of being under someones wing is fatally dangerous...the captain of the ship and the pirate who looted it are alter egos of the same being....i wanna scream!!!
