Personal branding - Hot iron not included

, , , , , , , , ,

I read an interesting post quite recently and will be following the advice of building a personal brand from Furie. I hadn't thought of branding as being personal before reading his posts on the subject, and with the new year coming up, want to start working a few subjects near and dear to my heart.

Nutrition is so important to each of us, and the right balance of vitamins, minerals and amino acids that we eat is what helps us stay healthy, so I'll be posting about the problems with obesity, healthy food, and recipes. If I have time, I'll make a few weekly menus as well.

Exercise is also important. Having arthritis, I find it difficult to exercise, so will be including videos from Youtube for the ones I've found that I can do, along with videos on yoga and core strengthening.

I recently recieved an order of heirloom vegetable seeds and will be building an organic garden, so I will be sharing pics as I build the garden. You'll be seeing photos from the very beginning, so stay tuned.

I will also be posting blogs and static pages on my other site, OrganizedMe in an attempt to get my online life somewhat more organized. I spend quite a bit of time online, and have over one hundred links which I will be writing about and sharing there.

Research on heart disease and epilepsy are located at Living with a Pacemaker. This is where I tell the story about my niece, her father (my brother), and my dad. I'll be doing more research on prostate and bone cancer, which is how my dad died, later on. There is, I believe, a strong link between the use of farming chemicals and prostate cancer, which were never given to the local farmers, and most in my area have died from this disease.

Given that I'm in college and don't have much free time, I can't promise a post every day, but what I post from here on out will be informative, and I hope, interesting.

If you've got an idea you'd like to see me write about, or think would help my blog, I would love to hear about it. I'll give you credit for any ideas I use, along with a link back to your blog.

Do you think too many cukes spoil the broth?

fatbig08 27. December 2008, 13:15

how was ur x-mas day?

PainterWoman 27. December 2008, 15:16

My health wish for the New Year is to stop smoking!!! I did in November for 8 days but I was around people all the time who gave me moral support. I'm going to a meeting tonight at 5pm. I think it's much like an AA meeting because it's called Smoker's Anonymous. I need to be around people! I'm alone too much of the time. We shall see how the meeting goes.

Weatherlawyer 27. December 2008, 15:19

Good luck.

Anne 27. December 2008, 17:53

PainterWoman, I wish you good luck too! I know that it's very supporting to talk to others who are also quitting. Don't give up!

Congratulations to your decision to blog about these topics! Sounds really interesting and I think it will be helpful to many others.

Babs 27. December 2008, 19:59

Weather, too many cukes in a broth? :yuck: I prefer my cukes sliced over a salad, or pickled. :D

Hello Bee, thanks for dropping by! I had a good Christmas with my family. How was yours?

Pam - I make the same resolution every year. I'm not making it this year. I noticed I tend to smoke more at night, so I'm going to stop keeping them within easy access. Out of sight, out of mind works most of the time, and willpower works some of the time.

Anne, I usually just write and hit "save," and was actually getting bored with the whole blogging idea. I had run out of steam, so to speak, until I read Furie's posts. I'll be doing some research before posting, because I do not just want to post my personal thoughts on the subjects.

fatbig08 28. December 2008, 02:59

@mine was so-so. actually, nothing interestin

after reading it carefully and looking at my body...maybe i'm a little fat :frown: i dont eat much, i dont eat junkie food, but dont exercise much, either :D wanna go jogging, doing some sports so much, but i'm so lazy :D so what's the remedy for my laziness?

Babs 28. December 2008, 03:07

I saw your photos, Bee. You are not fat! The remedy for laziness is just to get up. You're very good with a camera, so walk around and take pictures, then blog more about where you went for your walk.

fatbig08 28. December 2008, 03:18

me- not fat? omg....  cuz, u know, i used pts to fix my pics :D
i'm chubby, honestly! yes, i love taking pics so much, but just the zone near my house, i cant go far. 1st: my parents wont allow me to go. 2nd: how can i go when i dont know how to drive a motorcycle?

Weatherlawyer 28. December 2008, 03:30

There is simple trick to riding a 'bike:
Don't fall off.

fatbig08 28. December 2008, 03:33

bike? no...... i dont use it...

Weatherlawyer 28. December 2008, 03:55

Did I mention in my almost youth I had a m/cycle. The day before that law came out over here I went for a blast on the only straight stretch where I lived.

Something between my legs caught my attention. I forget what.

But I looked down just in time to see the bottom fall out of the engine. A con rod had gone straight through the crank case and lodged in the frame.

It left a stunning trail of smoke. And funnily enough I got home on one piston. 6 miles. Not bad, eh?

fatbig08 28. December 2008, 03:57

   omg... was there someone cinematograthed u?

Babs 28. December 2008, 04:06

How tall are you, and how much do you weigh, Bee? I just got back from looking at your photos again - I do not see chubby anywhere, but you're 15, right? So you're at an age where you would be concerned with your looks - that's natural - and you don't need a motorcycle for exercise.

I'll embed the widget I use for calculating height and weight according to your age on my profile page. For some reason, I haven't been able to embed them in my blogs.

Weatherlawyer 28. December 2008, 04:09

God no!

It's bad enough having all them stupid damn things happen to you without photos of your idiocies.

One good one would have been when my mate and I went shooting and palled up with the local poacher. So we were walking along the fences talking about our marvellous abilities when we came to a gap in the hedge we nipped over.

So carefully minding our guns we stepped over the barbed wire. Except I got stuck on it and couldn't save myself for the life of me.

My mate didn't want to help and I didn't want to rip my pants, so we both just stood there till the poacher came back.

He got stuck in without saying a word. Then when my mate was crossing he said. "Good job the farmer isn't chasing us."

I was mortified.

That sort of thing used to happen to me all the time.

PainterWoman 28. December 2008, 04:17

I've thought of getting one of those three wheeled bikes, the kind the old people ride in the retirement communities. Only thing is, there's no place to lock them up when I go to the store. I should just walk cuz it's only a little over a mile.

fatbig08 28. December 2008, 04:20

well... i'm 154 tall and ... weigh 54 kg :D
is that okie?

fatbig08 28. December 2008, 04:21

oh... and i am 14, not 15^^ in our country, lunar new year is the main celebration, not new year like other countries

Weatherlawyer 28. December 2008, 04:23

I'm tall, 154 and ate 54 pigs. (No goats at all were involved in this production.)

fatbig08 28. December 2008, 04:32

 weather, my english isnt good enough to understand ur comment

Babs 28. December 2008, 04:37

He is being facitious (smart aleck), Bee.

According to the BMI widget here you are at a normal weight. Since you are still growing, I also used the Pediatric BMI for children here, and you're in the 56th percentile - which means you're at the normal weight for your height and age.

Weatherlawyer 28. December 2008, 04:38

I'm old, fat, and my head is pushing through my hairstyle.

Babs 28. December 2008, 04:39

Weather, you are in top form tonight, even if you did eat 54 pigs! :yuck:

Pam, I've been thinking about getting one too. You can get a cable to lock the wheels.

fatbig08 28. December 2008, 04:41

oh, thanks for checking foe me. glad to hear that... so i can go on eating whatever i like.... hahahhahahahahaha

Babs 28. December 2008, 04:54

 What is your favorite thing to eat?

fatbig08 28. December 2008, 04:55

let me remember... boba tea, ice-cream, some rich food like butter, cheese and chocolate, some vietnamese food, too

PainterWoman 28. December 2008, 05:04

Babs 28. December 2008, 05:08

Babs 28. December 2008, 05:12

Bubble tea, also called "Boba" tea, is a tea beverage containing gelatinous tapioca pearls. It originated in Taiwan in the 1980s, spread to nearby East Asian countries, and migrated to Canada before spreading to Chinatown in New York, then to various spots throughout the West Coast of the United States[1]. The literal translation from Chinese is pearl milk tea (traditional Chinese: 珍珠奶茶; Tongyong Pinyin: jhenjhu nǎichá; Hanyu Pinyin: zhēnzhū nǎichá). The word "bubble" refers to "bubbling", the process by which certain types of bubble tea are made, and not the actual tapioca balls. The balls are often called "pearls." Drinks with large pearls are consumed along with the beverage through wide straws; while drinks with small pearls are consumed through normal straws. Bubble tea is especially popular in many East Asian and Southeast Asian regions such as Taiwan, China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Brunei, Malaysia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and more recently popularized in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Perú.

-------------> I'VE JUST SEARCHED IT ^^

Babs 28. December 2008, 05:30

So its tea with milk and tapioca pearls? I wonder if regular tapioca will work. Hm. Worth a try, and I'll do that tomorrow - If not, I just found a site to order the pearls.

fatbig08 28. December 2008, 09:34

 just a little surprised that u dont know this. it's very popular in vn. ii though it's also popular in US, but not?

Weatherlawyer 28. December 2008, 10:47

What is the recipe. How many teaspoons of dolly's eye balls per spoonful of tea?

Not that I intend trying it.

fatbig08 28. December 2008, 11:02

i dont know how to make it, just enjoy it. :D remember to use milk with no melamin!

fatbig08 28. December 2008, 16:11
