Knock! Knock!

I have been majorly stressed, and have never been so depressed in my life. Just had to shut everything out, but I think - or at least hope - that the nightmare is coming to an end. I am still in the wheelchair, and that's the main reason for my depression, but I have finally come to terms with it. I picked up my beads this past week for the first time in 6 months, and have managed to whip up a few things, made plans for others, put up a website to start selling online, and am rebuilding my business. GREAT THING!!
I still have the nutritional research to do - Heavens, how old is THAT blog - and I have to learn how to let Mom talk about what she would do with whatever I'm making without getting upset with her.
Anyhow, HI Everyone!

I'm sorry to hear that you're more depressed than ever.
Once you get your online store going, let me know! I'd love to see the rest of your stuff. I love the items you posted pictures of above.

I signed up for Etsy 3 months ago, and haven't done anything with it except check out what everyone is doing.
I've been sketching out some ideas, found some beading software to work up patterns, and set up my work space - Mom's dining table would go unused otherwise!

Here's the link for my store. There isn't much there yet. I am having the worst time taking decent photos!
I also have a new blog for all handmade crafts: http://dbabbit.wordpress.com/. My goal is to sent out invitations to the artisans who follow me at Twitter. I would love to interview them to see why they chose the media they did, where they draw their inspiration, whether they are self-taught or went to design school, and how they see their crafting growing in the future.

I always wzanted to mess around with semi precious stones but was put off because of the femininity of the hobby. Being in construction allowed me to see things you might miss though.
Bench grinders from Sears or whatever they are these days come with tile cutting diamond blades dead cheap these days.
And if you go on geology sites, I am sure you can get people to send you samples of pretty rocks. I used to go along the sea shore in North Wales when I lived there and pick up some nice stuff, to soft to tumble but I bet they's sculpt well.
Sci fi fans would go for dragons and chess piece type stuff, they wouldn't have to be Michaelangelo's David or Greek god proportions.
Just stuff you see in the stone. Take a look at Terry Pratchett's Disk-World mobilia.
Maybe not what you are thinking of but who knows what you will get up to when you progress? That sort of crap is very big over here. Can you imagine grown men forming societies to paint Star Trek models?
You think you are depressed? You haven't lived, girl.
(My son has a collection of castings of dragons etc. I haven't seen him in years. One has to laugh eh?
Edit reads:
Just thought.
Look up Staffordshire Hoard and Sutton Hoo jewelry. That might be more up your street. It is exquisite and I am sure there'd be a market for samizdats in the English Midlands.
I wouldn't mind some chisel handles in that enamelware.

I was thinking of a maths site though that tells you how to make spirals:
Some of my stuff since I couldn't get on my blog here:

Some links to spirals on there.
Have fun.

well, she survived, but something was not ok...she could move her toes
Now, almost a year later, she still can't walk: her muscles need very hard training plus she can't coordinate all the muscles, bones, etc, because her brain connections have to be made from now on. She probably needs another year or more to be able to walk almost normally.
But...it was kinda miracle (and i'm not the religious kind of guy)

Yes, it will be a miracle if she can walk again, but to be in the Olympics in a wheelchair - THAT is awesome!
