Welcome

Cherished Memory

A poem I wrote.

Cherished Memory
Deeply and resolutely in my heart I hold you dearly,
for God has called your spirit home~your journey here is done.

My dear loved one,
until my journey here is done and God calls me home~
in my heart you will always be a Cherished Memory.

What a beautiful memoriam, Carol.

Very beautiful! awww

Dacotah 5. April 2009, 21:50

Thank you Linda.

Dacotah 5. April 2009, 21:51

Rose-Marie, thank you. You know me though it's very hard to express my feelings into words. I'm happy you think it's very beautiful.

rose-marie 5. April 2009, 21:54

You're welcome Carol .
It feels sad, yet hopeful at the same time. I think you are expressing yourself very well .

L2D2 5. April 2009, 21:55

Was this a recent loss Carol?

Dacotah 5. April 2009, 22:10

Rose-Marie
Thank you.

Dacotah 5. April 2009, 22:11

Linda, yes it was a recent loss.
Condolences. God Bless...

L2D2 5. April 2009, 22:22

Carol, I did not realize he had passed. I read his blog and comments here and there when I first joined Opera, but had impression he was still going through treatment. I said a prayer for him when I first saw the requests to do so, even though I had never talked to him. I am so sorry to hear he lost his battle. I lost a sister to cancer, and have a brother who is in remission right now, so I know what a devastating disease it is. So sorry about Alan. When did this happen?

Dacotah 5. April 2009, 22:24

It's not Alan Linda, a member here as lost a loved one.

Dacotah 5. April 2009, 22:25

I'm so sorry to hear you lost a sister to cancer.
I pray your brother's cancer stays in remission.

lokutus_prime 5. April 2009, 22:51

"...for God has called your spirit home~your journey here is done. "

This is a beautiful, compassionate, composition and memorium Carol.
Thank you for sharing your words.

ellinidata 5. April 2009, 23:03

sometimes your presense is more important than words Carol,
in this poem you give heart felt messages

PainterWoman 5. April 2009, 23:19

Very touching and beautiful words Carol. So sorry for your loss.

L2D2 5. April 2009, 23:21

Sorry I misunderstood Carol. Glad it wasn't Alan. Somehow my mind just made that connection looking at LeaZZ blog. Anyway, I sympathize with their loss whoever it is.

We must grieve,
And in that grieving
Let out the sadness
It shall have room
To blow away
Time allows mourning
A place, for the moment
And them to pass on
Merging with shades of memory
Those we lose rest
We who are left behind
Carry the burden of sorrow whose weight is beyond measure
Our strength will return
But first we must grieve
We may not recover
From our Loss
But live is a healer
And if we believe
That this life is only
A step on a longer award then our steps are that much easier
And if we believe that this life is finite
And a closure at end
Then we must make the best of what we allowed
There will always be
Those who love us
We are never truly alone
Though we may never be answered in our dark best hour
We shall endure..

This was given to me from Peter's mum the day after he passed away.. So I am here to share with you..

if you love me, you won't cry …
death means nothing
I just slipped to the other side
I'm still me (and)
you're still you
what we meant to each other,
we still are
call me by the name, you gave to me before
talk to me like you did before
don't change your tone at all
don't go in a solemn or sad attitude
keep laughing about
the things we laughed about together
pray, smile, think of me
and join my prayers
may my name be expressed the way it's been expressed before
without any emotionalism, without any sign of shadow
life means what it meant to us all the time before
it's like it's been all the time before
the thread's not cut at all
why should I've gone off your mind
only because you can't see me anymore?
I'm not so far away
just on the other side of the way
look, everything's alright
you will find my heart again
and you will find the refined endearment within
dry your tears and
.., if you love me, you won't cry

Warming and comforting lovely words.
You show caring and warmth towards those who needs it.
It is allways so hard, so painfull to loose someone.

When thinking of an invissebel "other side" you don`t die.
You moove from one side to the other.
You are still there....right among us, but we just can not see you.

Don`t you ever feel the closeness of some loved onse who passed away?
That is beacause this person are with you even though you can not see or toutch.
I find it so good to believe this. It gives me strength to go on. It gives me opportuity to smile from my heart
