Thanks for sharing, Carol .

If I remember correctly, there's a slight difference in the word program (like a computer program) and programme (like a plan).

Kimberly 18. October 2009, 17:09

in some places in the world, words are spelled just a tad different from our way of spelling them.

Carol 18. October 2009, 17:42

Hi Tamil, whatcha thinking.

Hi Rose-Marie. Thank you.

Hi Kim.

Linda 18. October 2009, 18:23

Both definitions are spelled the same in U.S. You watch a program on TV and you program a computer.

Carol 18. October 2009, 18:30

They spell it this way though "Programme".

Kitty 18. October 2009, 18:45

My dictionary says that program is the same as programme, but program is more used in the US.

Darko 18. October 2009, 18:47

Will check on that web site later

Carol 18. October 2009, 19:25

Thank you Zaphira.

Thanks Darko. I like what they are doing.

Angeliki 19. October 2009, 00:34

:D I think an immigrant or a bad typist (I am both) made it easier to cover our mistakes
Linda is right, it is used either way..

Carol 19. October 2009, 01:11

Rose-Marie is right. Linda says program like I do.

Anyways, I posted the video because I think it's a worth while cause.

Just wanted to know why they spelled it that way.

Angeliki 19. October 2009, 01:16

 it was wonderful to see  and learn something new too!

Carol 19. October 2009, 01:16

Thank you Angeliki.

Thank you Linda.
I'm waiting for my avatar to show up.
Karen resized it for me. I chose the avatar a long time ago.
Think I will have to try again.

Linda 20. October 2009, 00:26

Carol 20. October 2009, 00:55

Programme is mainly used in the British language.

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/programme

they have a lot of words that have different spellings than American.
There, careful is spelled with two l's, tire is spelled tyre. I love spotting the differences!
The car parts also have different names, the trunk is the boot there, the hood is a bonnet there... and the list goes on... :D

Hubby's british and I'm still learning!

Carol 20. October 2009, 10:19

Thanks Issy, what did you think of the video and website?

dɹɐzılpǝkɔıw ɐʞɐ ɹǝɥgɐllɐg lǝbɐsı 21. October 2009, 09:46

Carol 21. October 2009, 09:53

Hi Issy, how are you?
Thank you.
Miss you.
