Missing my two fur babies in Minot, ND

I have not seen my two cats, Ms. Rascal and Mr. Snoops since the first part of July, 2011.
When we had to evacuate in June I put them with someone. They were scared and confused, didn't understand what was going on. They escaped from there and I haven't seen them since.
I put an ad in the paper, called the pound and human society and have people looking out for them. Still no luck in finding them. sad cry I miss them so very much. If any one in Minot, ND sees them please let me know.

Ms. Rascal

Carol, I hope they are fine and in the right hands. And you might find them one day. sad

Dacotah Saturday, October 8, 2011 11:16:40 AM

Thank you Dirk. I hope so to. I can't stop thinking of them and wanting to have them back.

Stardancer, thank you. I hope they do find their way back home. The water was still so high for so long that they couldn't go home. I have people in my old neighborhood keeping an eye out for them.

Tamil, keep your fingers crossed that they are okay.
Andrea thought she saw Snoops so I went to that area and called and called for him and her.

Peter, hugs heart

Teresia, I hope so to. Thank you.

I won't lose faith in finding Rascal. People keep telling me she's dead but I don't believe it and I won't give up. love

Hi der Wandersmann, thank you. smile

Tamil, bigsmile banana Thank you.

Ya all should see what a good boy Snoops is. He's been so scared for all these months and he was so good in the car ride home. Poor baby has the runs though. When I got him to my new home he went straight back to the back bedroom and hide under a chair, then he went into the closet for awhile, then under the bed for a bit. I laid on the floor and talked to him. He finally came out. Snoops kept talking to me and rubbing around me. He's been following me like my little shadow. bigsmile
He had a few accidents but I don't mind. I know he's not feeling good. So I was washing late into the night.
Snoops is eating and drinking so that's good news. He's not eating to much at once so at least he's not throwing up, that's good news. Snoops slept with me last night and he woke up a couple of times looking to see if I was still here. Awww, one of my babies is home. happy

I will never understand people like this, Snickerdoodle. Had you given up hope on Snoops, you'd never have found him. Never give up hope! Even cats who are accustomed to being indoors are still very clever and have good instincts. I'd say that Mr. Snoops is proof of this. Don't worry...Rascal will show up. It's a matter of time!!! loveheart

Dacotah Monday, October 10, 2011 7:44:55 PM

I don't understand people like that either.
I never will Special K.

KarenNerak Monday, October 10, 2011 8:00:31 PM

That's because we're too kind-hearted to be able to comprehend that level of douchebaggery. wink

Darkogdare Monday, October 10, 2011 8:13:14 PM

I am sorry to hear that. It is not easy for cats to understand all the stuff that hapens to them sometimes.

Hi Darko, thank you. I'm just so HAPPY I found my Snoops yesterday. Now I just need to find my Rascal.
Thank God they were fat, healthy and shots up to date.
Snoops is really skinny now and it's feeling to good but he's happy to be with us. Snoops has a vet appointment on the 17th. Wish I could of gotten him in sooner.

Next time, dammit (and there WILL be a next time, this planet is starting to bite back, and this deranged weather pattern is going to continue, and get worse), get yourself a nice, comfortable cat carrier, and take them with you.

night wolf Saturday, October 15, 2011 6:26:39 PM

lol

Dacotah Saturday, October 15, 2011 10:38:56 PM

Thanks Amir. heart

der Wandersmann, I have 2 cat carriers and I could NOT take them with me. If I could of I would of. The place we stayed at did not allow animals. I put them where I thought they would be safe.

sad

Dacotah Sunday, October 16, 2011 6:52:15 PM

Hi Elly, thank God I found one before winter.
Still hoping to find Ms. Rascal.

der WandersmannderWandersmann Sunday, October 16, 2011 6:53:38 PM

Sorry, Carol ... I meant no criticism. I know how hectic things can get at times like that. I have overnighted (is that a word?) cats in my car when I had to, but they don't like it much, even with all their goodies in there with them, and I think you were stuck with a period longer than a couple of nights.
I'm thinking seriously about trying to find a reasonably priced used RV ... Things can get nasty very quickly nowadays.

Dacotah Sunday, October 16, 2011 6:56:05 PM

That's okay. I just want you to know it killed me not being able to have them with me. I did go visit them.
Yes, things can get nasty really quickly nowadays.
I was homeless for 3 and 1/2 months so they wouldn't of lasted in a car, that's for sure.

der WandersmannderWandersmann Sunday, October 16, 2011 6:58:57 PM

Are you in a new home (to you) now? Or did you move into your old place? It was my understanding that the destruction was pretty total.

P.S. Keep looking.

Dacotah Monday, October 17, 2011 12:14:57 AM

Hi Der Wandersmann, I moved out of Minot, ND and moved to Granville, ND. Bought a piece of land and a new trailer.
The FEMA and SBA inspector said it was totaled. It was an old double wide modular home, the water went through the floor and up the wall a bit. It wasn't worth fixing up that old of a house. To much time and effort plus I didn't want to stay there anymore and worry about getting flooded again and having to get flood insurance. Now I'm up on a hill in a great little community, found a great church I am going to become a member of on the 30th of Oct. I'm so happy about that, it's been years since I've been to a church and it feels so good.

der WandersmannderWandersmann Monday, October 17, 2011 12:50:36 AM

It's nice to reunite with oneself.

Dacotah Monday, October 17, 2011 12:22:59 PM

Dacotah Wednesday, October 19, 2011 1:54:34 AM

Hi Elly, slowly but surely. smile

AnchyAnitaMargita Thursday, October 20, 2011 9:48:53 PM

Carol, I'm glad you found Snoops. happy Hopefully you will find Rascal as well. After all, cats have nine lives. up

Dacotah Friday, October 21, 2011 6:44:27 AM

Hi Anita, thank you. smile

PainterWoman Thursday, October 27, 2011 12:15:27 PM

Well, I'm glad at least one cat came back. Sorry about the other one. A lot of times, they find a safe place to stay on their own. Maybe the other one found a man like my dad was. He always started feeding stray cats. We had 14 of them hanging around the house for a while.

So glad you're in a new home and town with no chance of flooding. My sister was visiting me here in Fargo and we went for a couple of drives. Valley City and Casselton. My vet is in Valley City and it's a cute small town but the Sheyenne River runs through it and floods sometimes.

Dacotah Thursday, October 27, 2011 3:22:07 PM

Hi Pam, thank you.
I am afraid Rascal didn't make it and Snoops pushed out the kitchen window and escaped because he knew Rascal
was dead under neath the house. She had a breathing problem and I think that place made it to hard for her to breath. sighs.

L2D2 Tuesday, November 1, 2011 9:38:31 PM

So sorry to hear about Rascal, Carol, but really happy you are reunited with Snoops. Hope Snoops gets well and fat again very soon. Give Snoops a hug and pet for me. I miss having pets.

Dacotah Wednesday, November 2, 2011 10:15:04 AM

Hi Linda, thank you. I sure will give Snoops a hug and a pet from you. Will the place you live at now let you have one?

der WandersmannderWandersmann Wednesday, November 2, 2011 3:03:12 PM

Sorry to hear about Rascal ... I know how that hurts.
Take care ...

Dacotah Wednesday, November 2, 2011 5:58:32 PM

Thank you. It sure does hurt a lot.
Take care.

L2D2 Sunday, November 6, 2011 5:11:37 AM

Carol, I have to pay a large pet deposit to have a pet here, and I have decided I just am not physically able to take care of a pet properly anymore. So, I will just have to enjoy petting the other little doggies in the building. Haven't seen any cats.

Dacotah Sunday, November 6, 2011 11:07:25 PM

Sorry to hear that. Glad you can at least pet the other doggies that are around.
smile
