Thank God the girl is in stable condition.

:irked:  The 20 people can NOT be charged for standing by and doing nothing. May-be they can charge them for taking photos of the crime. UGH!!!
Since she was one year older they can't charge the idiots.
The law says the victim has to be 14 or younger. Stupid law.

maryamt08 29. October 2009, 10:39

Not enough prison as punishment...

There r Monster

Dacotah 29. October 2009, 12:00

Yes, pure evil monsters.
:frown:

Nerak 29. October 2009, 15:11

At least they've arrested most of 'em. I know that doesn't change what happened, but hopefully some justice will come out of it. I agree, though - very stupid law! :irked:

PainterWoman 29. October 2009, 15:22

I wonder what the reasoning is. There is not much difference between ages 14 and 15. The law makes no sense.

Dacotah 29. October 2009, 16:22

Karen, yes at least they have charged most of them.
Yes, :irked: at stupid law.

Pam, what I do not get is that if you or I or anyone else stand by and watch a crime being committed that isn't rape and do not report it we would get charged but since this is a sex crime against a lady that's over 14 it's okay to stand by and not report it. Shakes head. I do not get it.

PainterWoman 29. October 2009, 16:30

I don't either. People should be charged with being accessories to the crime IMO.

Dacotah 29. October 2009, 16:36

I agree with you Pam. It's not like the person that stood by and watched was scared something would happen to them if they did. Guess what I'm trying say is even a person that's afraid for their life can be charged for not reporting any other crime why can't sex crimes too. I think I better try and get this law changed. It makes me really mad.

L2D2 29. October 2009, 18:04

There is just a lot of evil loose in this world, Carol and I can't even begin to speculate on fitting punishment. I am wondering if this was a gang-related crime. Doesn't matter. Perpetrators and spectators should all be held responsible.

Dacotah 29. October 2009, 18:56

Yes there is Linda.

Tabmartel 29. October 2009, 20:02

Wonder if any of those pictures will be used in court? Or to identify suspects who weren't caught..

That poor child..stuff like this breaks my heart.

Anyone close by who didn't help should be shot! I hope the guilt lasts a lifetime for them.

The people writing the laws are people who lead cushy lives and have never ever been in such a situation. They have absolutely no clue about anything other than how much money is clear on their gold card..get real people doing these jobs and maybe then there will be change.

How can someone who only cares about whenn he gets to vote himself another raise acctually give a damn about what's happening to the you's and me's of the world.

Dacotah 29. October 2009, 20:13

Tab, my heart breaks and goes out to that girl. My prayers are with her.

I'm sad to say I do not think those IDIOTS that stood by will feel any guilt because to me they showed they have no conscience.

Tabmartel 29. October 2009, 21:09

Of course you're correct.

We had an inncodent on a bus where a man went mad..thinking God told him to kill the man in front of him. He took out his knife and decapitated the guy. 40 eitnesses...nobody did anything.

The guy with the head was waving it around and shoving it towards peoples faces.

He was deemed sane and fit for trial..

Nothing sane about that!

Dacotah 29. October 2009, 22:54

:frown:

H82typ 29. October 2009, 23:15

I don't understand why the people watching aren't being charged with anything.

Dacotah 30. October 2009, 03:17

I don't either Dennis, it's the stupid law, the girl was over 14 so they did nothing wrong according to the law by not reporting it. If she was 14 or under then it's a crime not to report it and it's a crime not to report any other crime.
Stupid law doesn't think a women 15 and older being attacked sexually is worth making it a crime not to report.

wickedlizard 30. October 2009, 11:16

Nothing wrong??? According to the law? WTF? I think that age limit is utterly stupid! There should be NO age limit when someone's rights has been violated. Rape is a vile crime, no matter at what age!!!!

And there is a possible 10 rapists in this??? According to the articles!!! :insane:

Dacotah 30. October 2009, 12:21

Hi Issy, this makes me so mad.
It is insane. I hope they burn in hell, all of them. :irked:

rose-marie 30. October 2009, 17:40

That law just doesn't make sense!

Dacotah 30. October 2009, 17:41

No it doesn't. I'm going to see if I can get it changed.

wickedlizard 30. October 2009, 18:37

Please let us know what we can do about that Carol, if you get any info on that.

Dacotah 30. October 2009, 18:51

I will Issy.
Have to think of a plan of action first.

wickedlizard 30. October 2009, 18:55

Thanks! Wish you luck with that!!!

Zaphira 30. October 2009, 18:58

Why the hell would people stand and watch?!

This kind of crime really makes me :furious:!!!

wickedlizard 30. October 2009, 19:02

Yes, it does!!! :furious: The rapists should be put away for such a heinous crime and the watchers all be put into correctional institutions for not knowing the difference between right and wrong and reporting the incident!!! :bomb: Sick sick monsters the lot of them!!!!!!! :furious:

Dacotah 30. October 2009, 19:32

Kitty, I'm so mad that these idiots can not be charged. :bomb:

Issy, it's just unbelievable that these idiots stood by, text people and took photos. :irked:

I think every state should have a law that allows prosecution of witnesses who stand there and watch a crime being committed and do nothing to prevent it. Happens more often than we know I'll bet.

Dacotah 30. October 2009, 21:06

Hi Linda, I think so too. I read only 4 states have what is called a Good Samaritan law.

BabyJay99 31. October 2009, 03:37

:bomb: :furious: :insane:

hi

Dacotah 31. October 2009, 03:37

Hi,
Hugs
Bye

Minenow 31. October 2009, 05:06

 I heard about this. So many witnesses, and not one did a thing.

This makes me just ache as a human. How can people stand by and do nothing?

Dacotah 31. October 2009, 09:06

Mina, I know.
Hugs.
I do not have the answer to that. I don't understand how so many could just stand by and do nothing.

SqueakeyCat 1. November 2009, 01:23

:insane: :bomb: :furious: :irked:

Dacotah 1. November 2009, 01:25

Me too Kim.
