Welcome

HORIZON

A poem I wrote for my niece, who is battling an illness.

Horizon
Look to the horizon and there you can see
all your hopes and dreams yet to be
Look to the horizon and there you can see
all your wishes yet to be
Look to the horizon and there you can can see
your future that is yet to be
Look to the horizon and there you can see
the heavenly stars looking down on thee

This is one of my favourites among your poems. I have a lot on my mind now, and this poem helps me to look to the horizon. Everything will be allright in the end, the problems won't last forever. It just feels hopeless at the moment..
This is the great things about poems, they give different meanings to different people. Thank you!

I really like this one. It reminds me of my early days in the Navy, sailing the South Pacific on a Destroyer. On calm days I would sometimes stare out at the horizon, and wonder how far we were from land, but day after day the horizon always looked the same, but with 18 years behind me, and an unknown future before me, I knew that my horizons would not all be the same. There would be many exciting horizons ahead, and I was right.

Thank you Dacotah, for the memories.

Dacotah 24. July 2007, 01:59
