I used to go past something like this in south london on my way to and from work, the guy was forced to take it down in the end...so he put up an aeroplane instead!
Yeah, this guy had to fight for years to keep it, he finally won on some kind of technicality. I love it, it's as big as the house!
I remember hearing something on the radio about a Dakota coming down on a house and parking perfectly on the roof during WWII. I wonder if it's still there...
Just up the road from here there was a cinema with what I assume was an ironic name, The Moulin Rouge. The guy who lives with the shark bought it and put a sculpture of a pair of huge jazz hands above the doors. Now that would seem like as good a place as any to me, but once again the coucil leapt in. They said it was an advert for the cinema and wasn't allowed under obtrusive advertising legislation, so the guy changed the name to Not The Moulin Rouge.
He still had to take the hands down, so he sold the cinema and kept the hands...

I guess it's easy to be a rebel when you're rich.
