A guy on the radio just made an interesting point. Saddam Hussein was sent to death for ordering the deaths of around 200 of his people. Yes we all know he killed thousands more, but the trial and the verdict was for that 200, and he wasn't found guilty of the actual killing, just his part in it. So far so good.
Meanwhile, Blair and Bush failed to get UN approval for their invasion of Iraq, neither did either of them actually declare war before sending the troops in, so... it would seem that under the same criteria that was used to prosecute Hussein, Bush and Blair are equally guilty. They have, after all, been responsible for the illegal deaths of vast numbers of Iraqis.
Deep inside my mind I know that something's wrong with this picture, but I'm a little farged if I can say what it is.
I don't actually like either of those guys very much, but somehow death seems a bit drastic.
