My OperaPakistan Taliban: Lying gits or slightly stupid?

Ever since Bin Laden was shot the world's media has been wanting to know one thing. Why didn't the US tell Pakistan they were about to do it? Even ask for their help? Finally the US admitted, it was because they suspected that someone on the Pakistani side might tip him off.
There can't be many people left on the planet who don't know this, or that neither the Pakistani people, nor their government, aren't too pleased about it.
So why are the Pakistani Taliban murdering Pakistanis by way of revenge?
I can almost hear the US military saying "Ouch!"
