The trip of a lifetime (Unless you live in L.A.)

, , , ...

It was a compo on daytime TV. Pick the right answer to this question from these three answers, 'phone it in, if you're really lucky you win the trip of a lifetime to L.A. and get to meet... David Beckham...

[The world falls silent. Someone coughs. The wind blows almost silently across the rooftops. A tumbleweed rolls across the street. Somewhere in the distance a bell rings...]

I gotta say, if I was to win a trip to L.A. I wouldn't want to waste a part of it visiting David Beckham.

Oh good grief.... PayPal

, ,

Many many moons ago PayPal wrote to me to tell me the fantastic news that every time I used them to pay for something I could win £25,000. Since then I've been using the PayPal option for all online purchases with that option available and awaiting the arrival of twentyfive thousand samckers in my PayPal account.

Then I received a 'last few days' reminder and thought I'd take a glance at the small print just to see when the promotion ended and I could start spending my virtual cash. It said I had to log in first.

So I logged in.

It said I wasn't registered.

Fascinated I bought up the registration screen and there it said that my logon details must agree with my PayPal logon details.

It would seem that in order to be in with a chance of winning the dosh you had to register your interest in the competition with PayPal.

Why would they do that? It doesn't save them any money, they still have pay out the winnings at the end of it all. It's not some peculiar law applicable only in Luxembourg or the USA or somewhere equally weird that you can't enter people into a competition without their permission is it?

The annoying thing is that once I got to read the small print it does mention there that I have to register.

I hope no one reading this has read yesterday's diatribe about reading the samll (Aaaaaauugh!!!!!) print.
