Yet another logo

I quite like the simplicity of it, allthough the white outer line probably isn't the best idea. Unless the background comes with it, of course. Hm.
This and that worthy the effort

More like O is "Opera".
It should be more like how in the logo above I guess.

The idea of taking the whole thing as an Icon is good too. Somehow I don't thin Jon will go for it though.
Personally I think in much of the world the name is whats holding the browser back. When many people think of the word Opera they think of a frufru uncool high art which is very uncool and boring.
Could you imagine if it was called something like "Dominator" or "Werewolf" or some other dramatic name.

I wouldn't change a thing.
My only suggestion/request is to test out that logo ^^ in a sphere shape more like Firefox and Flock logos. I'm just curious as to what it would look like. Obviously the bending/curvature shouldn't be too strong so the logo is still recognizable, but I think with your apparent skills you could design a pretty good looking "World Wide" kind of logo.
Who knows, but I really like the design! Hope to see some more ideas or alterations!

Sadly, the aesthetics in Opera are my biggest complaint. The browser is typically solid and performs well, but it's just not that appealing to look at and many aspects of the user interface are far from polished.
Hopefully Peregrine will bring some much needed polishing to Opera and better looking logo.

@kyleabaker
Slightly off-topic but I'd be interested to hear which bits of the UI you think need polishing most. From the sound of it, you mean from a design perspective rather than usability?

I've been meaning to do a write up or something...a blog post outlining the major things that I think need to change, but when I do I'll send you a link. I have plenty of ideas about making Opera more user friendly from a design perspective as well as usability. It's just very unpolished and I hear this from numorous people that I try to convert to Opera. The number one complaint is that it "feels" like too much of a change and too difficult to find things when they are used to programs being arranged and looking a certain way...which I completely understand. I'll pm you the link or post it here so others interested can read it as well.
@Demonstro
Still waiting for some more awesome Opera artwork!

Thanks, I'll look out for that. I've just converted my parents so it can't be that bad!
