This and that worthy the effort

Drop IE

It's getting close to that time of the year again when Opera innovates the web. In anticipation of that, I just wanted to share this little thingybingy I made for fun. Who knows, maybe it'll turn into a nice t-shirt someday?

Sadly it is somewhat futile/absurd/ironic to present this graphic in a way that no IE user will ever see...

Where has it gone? :frown:

tomassplatch 3. July 2009, 11:08

looking good. are we free to spread it on our blogs?

Demonstro 3. July 2009, 14:19

Sure! Go ahead. A link back would be polite, but I understand if is inconvenient. Just don't take credit for it.

The irony of IE users not being able to see it is not lost on me. I would love to see the expression of an IE user after having to go through all the trouble to see the image (installing a plug-in or whatnot). :D

Interestingly enough it won't show up in Firefox either I imagine (although I don't currently have Firefox installed to test - I'm guessing it won't looking at this blog).

Perhaps you can do up a similar "drop firefox" one too :D

I believe it does not work in Firefox because it does not support inline svg images, it only supports displaying them through an iFrame or object element.

@Christian: I think you should provide a link directly to the image as well, so it can be displayed in firefox if a user wants to see it.

Haha. SVG is so never going to catch on.
