I stumbled upon this today, pretty interesting. Yes it is funny. Especially the guy with hat at the end of the video 
I know facing other people in a small area like an elevator can be awkward but...
This is a good example of how people may follow like sheep and never question. You may say this is just a funny event but most people act like this in public in different ways. They want to be a part of the crowd, by instinct. And act like them. Even it doesn't make any sense. You don't have to be a genius to figure out the parallels with animal grouping behaviour.
