This column with angel and cross on top were installed at Palace square of Sanct Petersburg in 1834 like a memory of victory over Napoleon in 1812. It stands without any fundamental and stable till now. This monument is very strange, because it differs greatly, depending on point of view, weather and sun. I like this city, only one, built by plan from very beginning. It is not supported well in distant "new" districts, but it's hart is still strong after hundreds of years. Additional photo report in album, as usual!
We often think, that wild life is something on the screen of TV with Discovery channel. When You meet really dangerous creatures You feel shock, you understand, that You are really not ready for this meeting and You do not believe in reality of all this... It was a very short voyage from our base camp in Siberia. 5 people, 5 horses, no guns, one DVB camera... Nobody thought, that in a distance of 4 kilometers from the camp we will meet big mother bear with 3 young fellows. We (people and bears) were really shocked - we saw each other at the same time from distance of 5 - 6 meters!!!!! We were lucky, that mother decided to go away - maybe she thought, that loudly crying man on a horse is a too big animal to attack... Sorry for quality - I kept camera in left hand - right were used to "stabilize" the horse.
Well – known city, capital of Russian Empire and one of the most European cities in all country. I like this city very much and visit it from time to time. History and reality is combined in this stones and columns.
Parks and palaces around Petersburg are beautiful. They were built by different Zars end Emperors, starting from Peter I. It is funny to visit it and compare with palaces in Germany or France…
After visiting of all this parks You feel, that one of the main goals of our Emperors were to show, that we are the richest country in the world... All this beauty is a bit political... but this mode were set up by French kings and our zars spent a lot of money and people lifes to be better. Additional pictures are in the album
History... many people like to talk about it, study, at least - play historical computer games or watch more or less realistic movies. This Saturday we visited one of most known historical cities around Moscow. It is situated about 200 km to the SE from Moscow and still consist of big amount of churches, central castle (Kremlin) and more or less old wooden houses of people. No plants, no big buildings... This city is more than 1000 years old and it's main churches were built about 1100 - 1300. Suzdal was much more powerful than Moscow, but history changed borders, trade roads, and "cashflow"... Many people come here to fell into middle age atmosphere for several hours.
But it is an alive city! On the July, 18th, for example, they organized traditional "Cucumber Day"... We spent 1 hour just to park a car... So, look at the album "Suzdal - Cucumber day!" to get the influence!
Now I posted a short film about our Siberia horse ride last year. We discussed already forest fires, wild life, ets., so I think, that moving picture in 720p format will give an additional feeling of that place.
The quality is not VERY good, because it was done by my old Sony HD camera in HDV format (1440x1080 pixel originally). After this voyage I changed camera and results became much better. Good quality is here:
All shooting were done in Alps (Austria, Tirol) in February. I did not use any tripod, but good camera provided reasonable results. Basically, tripod is really necessary for HD camera, but it always happens, that in reality You are not prepared well or You don't have time to do everything correct...
