Dennis Martire – Fighting For Workers' Rights
Dennis L. Martire currently serves as the vice president of the Mid Atlantic region of the Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA). With his team, Dennis has helped construction workers and other laborers in and around the Mid Atlantic region have their voices heard by both management and government leaders.
In addition to representing the rights of laborers in the region, the LIUNA assists workers in their fight to establish their own unions, trains members to better complete jobs and fights for safer working environments.
Dennis L. Martire and the team at LIUNA provide training for the working men and women they represent in order to help the perform their daily tasks more efficiently. Through this training – which is available in a wide range of subjects and specialties – workers are able to advance more quickly in their current careers or start down different career paths.
However, one of the most important benefits to joining a labor union network like the LIUNA is the access workers get to better pay and benefits. Studies show that workers who are members of a labor union live better lives and are happier at their jobs. LIUNA provides its members with access to better pay, increased training, and rights to pensions and retirement funds that are often taken away from non-union workers. In fact, more than twice as many workers who are members of the LIUNA have the security of stable pensions than their non-union counterparts.
