Legba in Austin

What can I say for myself? For today? It's beautiful, and so is life, but I can't say I feel that way right at this moment. I was called and led to this place by unseen forces and have been pulled in many directions since landing here.
I'm approaching the two year anniversary of my descent into the old spirit bowl and I feel it's almost time to depart. My sister marries in May, and afterwards, I'll be off.
I remember standing on the edge of a cold, rushing stream. As pyschedelics and spirits coursed through my frame, I stood erect, arms outstretched, legs welded together, swaying with the gentle pulsing of the Earth. Just like a snake. Was it Gaia, God, or Damballah that took my breath away that sacred evening? It connected me to symbols, and opened my mind to paths and possibities. My life was forever changed that evening on the banks of Campbells Hole, Austin, TX.
Only a few short months later I would be packing my bags and rediscovering my home in New Orleans. Upon arriving, I felt that I'd always belonged. The sluggish Mississippi, unaware of its strength, beckoned me to its surface. Thousands of spirits who guarded their remains along the levee welcomed me and dove into my dreams. The beauty of the grit and decay is mesmorizing,
and puts me into trance-like states for hours. Work is something you have to do, but never want to. It's easy to lose yourself.
I've got to move on before the river calls me to bed. I'll bring from here much wisdom and tolerance. Thank you New Orleans. For the dreams, the experience, and the new religion.
Peace.

But I'm not a great writer! I simply say what I need to say. I can't seem to be able to use the myriad words I have at my disposal. I guess there's something to be said about brief and simple yet eloquent verbosity in plain terms? OK. I'm slightly inebriated. That was nonsense.
If I could only partially explain the way I really felt out on the banks of that stream, the world would be a better place, and if I COULD explain it fully, I would be more than human. Blasphemy.
Hey, maybe we're not "human". Deep down I mean.....
Anyways, thanks for coming to see me. I've been a bit weird of late.
Peace.
