INVERSE VANDALISM

Create. Live. Evolve.

Operation VanGuard: "Cover the Cold" - Part 1

I have enabled my perception of opportunities to develope so highly that I can create them at will! My luck is such that I can stumble upon exactly what I or others need at the very moment it is needed!
Two days ago, it was 80 degrees in NOLA.
This morning, it was 30 degrees in NOLA.
"The poor bums in the neighborhood won't stand a chance!" I thought to myself.

However....
At some point yesterday, some volunteers from the church
across the street decided to clean house a bit.
What did they throw beside the curb?
Sleeping Bags! Garbage cans full of 'em!

Thus began "Operation Cover The Cold".
The shivering sub-proletariat of the sunken city need not fear.
A huge white van full of warmth is coming your way!

I will seek them out and deliver a night of warmth at least...
until it gets stolen by someone else....
which is fine as long as it's helping someone...
More on this story as it unfolds! Aarharhargh!

Today I also had an interesting work assignment.
I drove around and photograph old houses that our company had painted so that we can print a pamphlet to distribute to local architects. It was fun!
I've never been PAID to do photography. New Orleans has some AMAZING houses, so I'm gonna compose a photo album of local architecture for ya'll. So that's coming up soon.

Oh, and I almost forgot! I'm also getting back into environmental activism! Watch out corporate scum. I'm back.
Stay tuned...

It's amazing what people will throw away. I mean, you'd think that if a church group was rummaging about in an old church and came across sleeping bags, bedding, clothes, ect., they would do something, oh, I don't know, like donate it to people! The sad thing is that it was an out-of-state group that had come down to provide Katrina relief!
Luckily, the garbage hadn't come yet.
