Discovery Wildlife Park is Alberta's best zoo and the most unique wildlife facility that you'll ever visit!
We are dedicated to providing homes for animals that are in crisis. Many of our animals were orphaned in the wild and have been hand-raised here with loving care. Hand-raising also means training. And our training is another aspect of our facility that sets us apart from the rest. However the training is not solely for the benefit of our visitors or the film industry, many of our animals have starred in Hollywood movies, commercials and TV, training is one of the highest form of enrichment that animals in captivity can receive. It gives them something to look forward to each day and helps keep them happy and healthy and most important, interested in life. Training reduces boredom and lethargy and enables us to care for the animals more efficiently and with less stress.
Discovery Wildlife Park is not funded by any government agency and is self-sustaining. Our funding comes from revenues generated within the park through admission fees, concession and gift shop sales, sponsorships and donations. Our goal is to provide our visitors the opportunity to bond with our animals and have a positive experience. Visitors leave with a greater understanding and appreciation of the diversity of life on our planet.
