Columbus goes 'batty'

COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- The bat boxes being distributed around the base will deter local bats from finding shelter in work places and houses as well as serve as a countermeasure for mosquitoes. A single bat can eat up to 1,000 mosquitoes in one hour. (Courtesy photo)

NEWPORT, N.Y. -- A full-scale F-35 Joint Strike Fighter model is perched atop a pedestal overlooking a rural valley in central New York. Engineers from the Air Force Research Laboratory's antenna research and measurement facility here are testing the aircraft's sophisticated antenna. Officials unveil new space badge

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The master-level space badge, like other Air Force badges, will include a senior version with a star only and a basic version with no star or wreath.
