Well, it's not so mysterious to me. It's a human instinct (yes, we have a few instincts) called "territoriality". Real threats are rare, and real territory is conceptually passe, but we still tend to react by that instinct. There's something about driving which awakens that territorial behavior complex, and we have to consciously turn it off.

Of course, there's more involved than that, but it has to do with the vast neurosis of living in America, and to a smaller degree, other Western nations.

Sorry, it's hard to keep track of both. My knowledge of CSS is limited to simple stuff. I use it on my static site and in my browser (called a "user CSS") to alter or eliminate features from web designers who don't get it. Here on MyOpera, I tend to use whatever comes with the widget set provided.

I'm from South Florida.... and I have road rage.

Even on days that I am happy and in a great mood, someone cuts me off and it's like a switch that goes off in my head. I try hard, let me tell ya.. I use my turning signals, I give people time to change lanes, and I am curteous to pedestrians. Yes, even on South Beach where pedestrians like to jump in front of cars.
