Well I'm back on-line...but only just. Can't get my email accounts to work - had this trouble before (but that time Opera did open them).

What a business trying to find all the drivers, updates, latest versions, contact lists, etc, etc, etc. Virus writers have a lot to answer for (I hope they sleep well!).

So now it's just a matter of dealing with life's other problems - the major one being the execrable DWP. I have asked for their definition of work and of training. The minimum wage legislation has already provided a work definition so I will compare and contrast when I eventually get something out of the government.

What happens next depends upon the exact wording - best case screnario I apply for judicial review against the DWP and their orders in council. Worse case - I have to go on a meaningless job placement for 8 pounds per week.

Seems like I also have to go on a 2 week course for general skills where, no doubt, I will be told that my CV is rubbish and needs to be re-styled completely (it was the last such place that designed the previous one).

Dear Mr Brown has also informed the country that claimants (we are erroneously referred to as "customers" at the jobcentre) will be subject to more compulsion. Seems that we are this years' whipping boys. Obviously the politicians have got fed up with single mothers and illegal immigrants! You may notice a pattern here - all groups without the power to fight back.

Well dear reader this villain(e) is not going to take it lying down. It's about time somebody stood up for the unemployed even if they loose part of their already starvation level benefit.

Watch this space.
