I guess plenty of folk will recognise the quote from Private Frasier. I'm not the first to quote it this year - it was on Radio 4 earlier today. Perhaps now people will take a long hard CRITICAL look at Democracy and Capitalism!
Capitalism relies on greed, wasting resources and being coerced by advertising. Resources are finite - we don't need designer labels or machines with built-in obsolescence.
Democracy is not the b all and end all of political systems - what difference has it made in Zimbabwe or Iraq?
Still - this year I have determined to get off my soap box (at least for part of the time) and feature more positive things in my life - like Country Dancing and Wargaming. So watch this space.
