Mob Rule

Last Friday (9th November 2012) at 23.29 hrs there was a loud crack and something hit my window. Saturday morning I found that my kitchen window had been holed by an airgun pellet. Now I didn't see anything so have no proof as to the perpetrators - they were far too cowardly for that. It can only be a coincidence that my near neighbours were coming and going at the time.... and only another coincidence that they know I have reported them to the authorities on a number of occasions!
So I have to claim on my house insurance, pay the £50 excess and lose my no-claims bonus. In my opinion this is because the local council have not done their duty by enforcing the Noise Abatement Notice. Had they done so actions to evict these 'rotten apples' could have taken place.
I will send the Environmental Health dept the bill for both costs. Of course they will weasel out of it. Isn't that what their army of lawyers is for?.
The police sent a local pseudo-bobby to talk to me. I received a sympathetic letter from Victim Support (ironically I used to work for them). A real policeman paid a visit to my neighbour. None of this will make a scrap of difference.
On Thursday some of us voted for a new Police Commissioner. A Tory hack was elected. Unlikely then that anything will get done about anti-social behaviour.
People like Cameron are great at making the right sort of noises if it garners them votes. Pity they're not as concerned about real outcomes. Still what do Tory Politicians (and their stooges) care about what happens in a Labour constituency?
