On Tuesday I was up early to receive a re-delivery.......I waited......and waited ....and...
eventually the postman turned up. Still, could have been worse - I have known 4.00 pm deliveries.
Much to my surprise the parcel was from Talk Talk. I recalled that an SR had mentioned a new modem. So a brand, spanking new, modem had to be set up....sigh!
Still life is full of the unexpected. The modem was easily installed and ran from the outset. I checked the speed - 2.7? Wow! The excitement was too much so I went upstairs.
When I came down again - no broadband, dead phone. Well not quite a dead phone - I had the 1571 burp. I listened to the message and cleared it.
Miraculously broadband came back on (the phone as well). I checked broadband speed again - 2.3
Since then the line has been stable (no dropping out) and the broadband running at about 2.2 Mb.
1571 has caused trouble in the past but now only slows down broadband speed to 1.5 when there is a message for me. This is a curious fault. Anybody else out there suffer in the same way?
