Last Experience with a Dentist

Its was morning again and I woke up as early as usual, said my prayers and proceeded to do my morning workout: A few push ups and sits ups, nothing elaborate like making use of gym equipments. I proceeded to the bathroom to brush my teeth, which I usually do with a lot of vigour. As I picked up my toothbrush and proceeded to wet my mouth with water, I felt that throbbing pain again! Yea,that heavy, hellish, devil-invented, God-forsaken pain in that stubborn tooth in the rear left corner of my mouth. I'd come to hate that tooth in recent times then because it was so sensitive to whatever gets in contact with it, from food to drinks, hot to cold.but a lukewarm food or drink usually passes without any significant event. But how can I do without having cold soft drinks?....And then, without hesitation, I decided to go see a dentist! After a smooth ride of about 15 minutes, I arrived at the dental clinic. And then it was my turn to see the dentist. He asked me easy questions I was able to answer very well because I was a medical student and I could describe symptoms vividly. The dentist, then pointed to a door and told me to locate a chair in that room, and wait patiently for him. When I got through that door, I bagan to take note of my surrounding. In a corner of the room lies the chair which is customised to tilt my head backwards, there were different teeth paintings on the wall. And then I glanced to the side of the chair and saw a waste bin with bloody teeth, probably like a hundred tooth inside...I was suddenly scared. I thought to myself, "So my tooth could join one of these teeth, if the dentist doesn't certify it good" . My heart had just began to race, when the dentist walked in and told me he's going to extract the tooth!...suddenly my heart stopped for about two seconds and then resumed beating, just as I was thinking of the best way to escape the clinic!..but without wasting any time, he bent my head, opened my mouth and injected my gum with a local anaesthetic. He repeated the process with another injection of a nerve blocker. Within minutes, I couldn't feel my teeth again, and my tongue went numb, as I couldn't make speech again. And then he picked up something that resembled a 'curved plier' and proceeded to "exhume" the dead tooth. He positioned the plier in place and pulled and pulled. This was associated with a normal amount of pain. After about a minute of pulling, I heard a "pop" sound and the plier emerged from my mouth with the tooth, a very large and bloodied one: large becasue its a molar tooth, bloodied beacuse, well it just got plucked, "duhh"(like a naija girl trying to 'form' would say). I gasped for breath for about a minute before the dentist smiled what I perceived as an "evil-smile" with them horns popping out of the sides of his head. "He was probably laughing inside", I thought to myself. Which made me dislike him for that period. I was in moderate pain, so he put a cotton swab in the "trench" he just sinisterly created in my mouth, to stop the bleeding. I was then placed on a bed and told to relax. After about 5 minutes, the bleeding had stopped and as he approached me again, my body was prepped because I thought to myslef, "is he coming to tell me another tooth is bad and he has to remove that one too"? I decided to flee as soon as I got the chance maybe knocking him down in the process, I didn't care. But he came to me smiled and handed me a large cotton swab, which I opened and found my tooth inside. Then he explained some things about care of the teeth which I've known since grade school, but obviously didn't pay attention to, which cost me my precious tooth. And so I decided to always brush twice daily and I suggest you always do the same. Then the dentist gave me some drugs, and told me to go home. I couldn't say thank you to him, well beacuse my tongue was numb and I couldn't make speech duhh........
