From One Chick to Another..

Where under His Wings I find refuge.

Alas!

More than words can describe. I am happy! (there are cupboards & drawers all around! )

Overtaken by Blessings!

Where to begin?
Well...I had a FANTASTIC week-end away!!---I won't talk about that right now though.
Yesterday, my 10 year old daughter was a part of Canada's Spelling Bee...in her school. I enrolled her in that a couple of months ago..well---SHE won FIRST place in the Junior division!!! :hat:
She is off to Toronto next month for the finals! --and she won $200.00!!

Ok...then, we sold our first baby goat of the season, yesterday!
We sold Teddy--the 1/2 breed...the cutest male goat in the bunch.

This morning while I was in the kitchen...I spotted a different bird on the deck..it is a 'yellow bellied sapsucker'..

I have yet to spot one on my deck before so I snapped a shot and e-mailed the pics to my 'expert' friend---and here was his reply...

Hi Cheryl,
What wonderful pictures! I think I'll use one for my column in the Lanark Era next week. Of course, I'll give you credit for it.
The woodpecker is a yellow-bellied sapsucker, first one reported this year. It drills neat rows of holes in trees to get the sap running for its food. In about a week, the first (male) hummingbirds will be reported for they follow the sapsuckers northwards being guaranteed a supply of nectar.
Cliff

I am always fascinated by the different birds that come to my deck.

And today while I was in the barn taking pics for my 'goats for sale' advertisement---I discovered this......

Little Momma had her baby!! I knew she was due anytime...but it was so cool that she just gave birth moments prior to my coming to the barn. It was perfect timing! I don't normally go in the barn in the morning. This little girl was born at approximately 10:30 am. EST--she'll be ready to go to a new home in 3 months.

& The cake orders are pouring in! :D

3 more Sleeps!

I am going to a ladies conference in 3 more sleeps! :hat:
14 women from our church are going to Thorold- Ontario--southern Ontario--for a ladies conference. (7 hours away from here)
It's a Christian event...and I am super PUMPED!
What am I pumped about?

Getting away for 3 nights..4 days! Hanging out with some of my closest friends!....eating out! not having to make my bed! (I don't do that often anyhow! p: )
And most importantly...being in a setting where there are going to be many women with a similar kind of goal in life.

I am also pumped about my weight loss! I don't know how much I weigh...HOWEVER...during my closet hunt for decent outfits...I tried on a lot of stuff and most of it is WAY too big!!
Especially my summer stuff. SO..guess what??? I will be buying more clothes as I am able to.
I have another DR's appointment on May 1st...so I will then discover the amount of POUNDAGE that has come off.
I have to admit...I haven't been uber faithful in the excercise dept...the weather has been HORRIBLE and my activities are outdoors. I don't like indoor machine-oriented work-outs.
With spring supposedly here...(looking outside you wouldn't know it...we will probably have snow till MAY! :irked: :frown:  ).....I will eventually be getting the veggie garden prepped and ready...and doing a WHOLE lot of cleaning in the barn...so I'll be getting plenty of excercise soon.

Welp..that's it for the maintenant....

"And He bowed His head, and gave up His spirit."

I woke up this morning with a desire to spread the biggest message of Love to whoever wants to read about it.

Today is Good Friday---where most Christians celebrate the crucifixion of Christ. I say 'celebrate' because it is what we should be doing.
To me.... this week-end is better than Christmas.
As I think on, and meditate on the sacrifice of Jesus...I have this fire burning on the inside of me..and that is why I have to share it.

A person who has gone to church his/her whole life..or even just on the 'holidays' can grow numb to this message...especially if you just go and hear with natural ears. (for many years I was in this boat)
But there is such an amazing revelation of God's Love in this message...if you will open your heart to really 'hear' what Our God is trying to tell us.

The truth of the meaning of life is in the message of the Cross of Christ.
We go around, as humans...seeking for the meaning of life everywhere...trying to find 'our place' in this world.
However...our place in this world...if you really boil it down..is to be in God's Kingdom.

Jesus died so that we could be reconciled to God.
The Old Testament of the Bible is worth reading to understand how difficult it was for a person to 'abide' by the laws that God gave us.
Forgiveness was offered through a yearly sacrifice of an unblemished animal.
And there was a huge ceremony involved. The priest had to be clean...& purify himself...he was set apart for this station by God Himself.
Blood had to be shed in order to be purified from sin. To have that Forgiveness that we so crave.
They tied a rope around the priest's foot or waist...incase something wasn't quite 'right' and he was struck dead by God's extreme holiness. (that way people could pull his corpse out of the Holy of Holies'.

God created man to have fellowship/relationship with Him. He so wants to have a Relationship with US!
But..He gave us freewill.
So..He wants us to WANT to have that relationship with Him.

Anyhow...that's my lame explanation of the Old Testament ritual...

He-God then, seeing that the way of Old...through the Laws of the Old Testament, was an almost impossible way for man to come to Him....
provided a way for us to have access to Him! A simple Way.
He sent Jesus...and you know the story.

But a sacrifice had to happen.
So Jesus, came in the form of man. Went through his 33 years without sin...to be a perfect--unblemished sacrifice...and was then crucified for us.

This is the Love story here...
Jesus...being without sin... took apon Himself...ALL of our sins! This is hard to wrap our heads around...but try.
He took apon Himself ALL of our sins....All of them... those sins not committed yet....by the many generations to come.
He literally went to Hell to be tormented for 3 days....FOR US. So that....just by simply believing in what He did...and Who He was & is....we don't have to go to hell.
Not only did He take on our sins...He took on our Infirmities...our Sickness--Our Disease--Our Guilt--Our Shame--Our Hurts!
And by His shed Blood---by our faith in that...WE ARE HEALED!
And most importantly He conquered Death! He conquered Death & Hell so that we could/might be FREE!
This was a ONCE & FOR ALL sacrifice....so that there would be no need for any more blood- offerings ever again.

You know the bible verse... John 3:16? "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting Life."!!!!
God soooo Loves us---that's why He made a way for us to have a relationship with Him. Through Christ's Blood...we have BOLD and Confident access to HIM!
I pray that your eyes are opened to this amazing Truth.
All you need to do is Believe.
He provided a WAY to FREEDOM...to HEALTH...to WHOLENESS..to EVERLASTING LIFE with HIM.
This is for NOW...not for when we die. For NOW.

We have a choice...to Believe on Him..Jesus, who God sent and live in Freedom...or to follow our own ways and spend eternity in condemnation.

"He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit." John 19:30 (It is FINISHED!---The WAY has been made!!)

God Loves Us SO MUCH! He Loves You...and wants you to be FREE.

Snow...snow...snow!

To follow--- about a dozen pics of the biggest snow storm we have seen in quite some time...I think the last big one like this was back in the 40's.....

In a bit of a di-Llama!

,

A couple of years ago..we wondered what was up with our llama- 'Felicity'...if you don't recall...Check THIS & THIS out. :D

Well...Those posts in itself should tell you that we know absolutely NOTHING about llama's.
Today---My husband informed me that our lovely- amourous llama Felix..has been caught mating with our goat.. Bunny! Homer: Doh! :faint: awww :yikes: :insane: :left:

We are not sure what to do. For now..we are separating him. But I am putting this out there for any advice for what to do.
Should we geld him? Or get rid of him?
Any llama experts out there? I don't want to get rid of him...& I don't want a female llama. Unless to trade him for one. One thing for certain..our lives are not boring here. p:

Getting ready for 50 more cm's of snow. Another snow storm on the way!!!!

So Totally Amazing!!

You MUST check this out! You won't be sorry! :D

You Reap what you sow.

I think that the Title- You reap what you sow- is a basic principle in this life.
I thought I would post here..since there is not too much action in the Forums.
As I was praying this morning, the Lord really inspired me to write some thoughts down..and so I share them with you.

Actually, perhaps before I do that, I'll just be vulnerable with you.
There has been such a revival in me in the last few months. Moreso in the last 6 weeks.
There is no Life outside of the Life of God, through Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Of this, I am absolutely convinced.
I am so tired of playing silly games and taking my salvation for granted.
This is where I am coming from now.
I just want all my friends to know where I stand. People, there is power in this Life I live.
IT is the same Power, that raised Jesus from the dead. It is real. There is no Life outside of this Life.
Everything else leads to death & hell.
This is the Truth. This is the ultimate--ABSOLUTE Truth!
There is such a thing, you know...as Truth. I have heard so many debates on Truth..and I am here to tell you that there is actually an absolute Truth.
Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the LIFE...and NO ONE COMES to the Father (GOD) except through ME." Simple.
If you choose to live differently...that's fine. We have been given free will. That's the beauty of a relationship with God. He wants us to WANT to have a relationship with Him.
The god of this world--the devil-satan..has deceived many into believing that our God is an angry God. And that many have died because of His judgement. Why are children dying? FAMINE?
Why are there wars?
They blame God for these things.
Nope..folks...there is no one to blame but humanity.
They blame God...yet, they don't serve God.
God won't protect them, won't bless them...won't be Lord of their lives outside of an invitation from them....read Genesis people. After Adam & Eve were kicked out of the Garden--out of Paradise, HE gave humans authority over the earth...they chose to let the devil dictate to them. They didn't believe God.
God isn't to blame for these awful things. The god of this world-satan, is! Wake up! Stop blaming God for things that He has no control over.
The control has been given over to the devil in most cases.
Whew...I really didnt' expect to say all of this. I just want to stand on the rooftops and shout to the world that Our God...My God, is a LOVING GOD. An ALL POWERFUL GOD. A BLESSING GOD. A FORGIVING GOD. A HEALING GOD. A PROVIDING GOD!
His Truth WILL be revealed. Even if you don't believe it now. You will one day. And that is a guarantee.
I will not be responsible in anyway when I stand before my Father for not doing my part to proclaim the Good News of the Gospel of Christ.
Jesus came to set the Captives free! Who are the Captives? Those that are held in bondage to fear, money, addictions, lusts of all kinds...There is no freedom outside of Jesus Christ.
You may think there is, but I will be bold enough to say---There isn't. DON'T be deceived.
Don't be deceived.
I pray that the god of this world would be bound from your minds and that the Spirit of the Living God would permeate your thoughts--that you would see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ!...that the Truth would be made alive to you, in Jesus' name!
I have never been more serious about anything in my life. I say these things out of the Love of Christ...
I think I will post about my thoughts in the Forums...so if you want to read them..come on ahead... Be Blessed..feel free to message me with any questions.

One of the joys of Baby Goats!

One thing to consider when a person decides to breed goats (or other cattle) is to keep the horns or not?
We prefer to disbud our goats...and brought all 13 babies to the vet! (In the back of our van!) :D
Click HERE to see the album of our trip...
We found a great vet in Almonte. They were reasonably priced and extremely caring handling these little sweeties! Each baby got a nice shot of a pain killer beforehand.

(which of these things is not like the other? )
Have a great day!

She Did IT!

Not even 12 hours after taking that photo in the post below, of Bunny...she birthed 3 :eyes: BIG HEALTHY BOYS!
I was on baby goat watch all evening last night, and we didn't come into the house until 1:38 this morning.
We had to leave Bunny, in labour in the barn as it seemed that it was taking forever!
At 3:15 a.m. :coffee: I had a funny feeling in my gut that I needed to get to the barn..and so I did!
Good thing too...cuz Bunny had just birthed her first son.
I ran back to the house..and woke Peter up and told him to come quick--there were more coming!

In the next 1/2 hour...she birthed 2 more BIG boys!
Bunny is our only- non-Boer goat. She is an Alpine goat. SO her babies aren't pure Boer. That's ok...they are gorgeous nonetheless.
Check out the colours on the lad below! He looks like a Holstein cow. :D cow
That's it for us for babies for now. Abe fathered 14 babies in TOTAL.(Chase born in July) 13 born in this last week!:faint:

You should see our barn now...babies EVERYWHERE! It's really cute..they are very active & mischievous little critters. :D You can see it in their wee faces.

(Dot & Betty---a week old today!)
Have a great week-end...I know we will!
