From One Chick to Another..

Where under His Wings I find refuge.

4 more Kids! & Update...

Wow! :eyes:
It's been a wild day!
We went to church this morning...great service!
Then, came home to 2 new baby goats in the barn. Ok...so we went in and made sure everyone was alright.

Not really..the one momma rejected her baby. :frown:

So...I am trying to get the other new momma to take her. She didn't want her.

Then I went to "Baby's" pen (new momma from yesterday with twins) to see if she would take this little girl...she didn't want her either.
Then Peter yells...there are more babies coming! :yikes:
So...sure enough, in the other pen with the already new momma of one...she has a little head sticking out!!
No feet!!!... Ummm....rut roh! Homer: Doh! ---There should be..2 feet, and a nose...not a head!!
Peter ran to the house to get me some gloves...I was then able to free a leg from way underneath the baby..and deliver her. She was limp..and barely breathing!
NOPE! NO WAY!! NO CREATURE ON MY FARM IS GOING TO DIE!!
I just got through reading Deuteronomy 28 Saturday morning and declaring that my animals are blessed! The offspring of my animals are BLESSED!
I rubbed this limp baby with a towel..and prayed over her..and yelled at the devil to let her go in the name of Jesus...this baby would live!
And she started to bleat ever so quietly...and move ever so gently..and I could feel her heart start to pound....we just thanked God..we praised Him!
Then...no real shocker here... ANOTHER HEAD!!!! No feet. :eyes:
You can't do much but laugh right?
I did the same thing, pulled the leg up...no easy task..but much easier the second time around.

Actually more ideally, it would be better to have 2 legs out..but she was pushing too hard for me to hook the second leg.
This time it was a very big boy...a very lively boy!
Thank GOD!
So momma had a total of 3 babies....and guess what? She accepted the rejected one too!!! :hat:
So---new momma has her work cut out for her...I will be very happy to not see another baby goat for a night.
Tomorrow shall bring new babies I believe. There are at least 3 more does ready to drop any time.

Update-January 7th, 2008
After a VERY restless sleep....
Everything is calm in the barn. We named the new momma of the triplets..QUEEN.
She has accepted the rejected baby...reluctantly, and with a LOT of persistance & prayer from us.
You figure that one other baby---how would she know? But she knows! She could smell the difference.

(here is Queen with all 3 babies...check out the sizes of the ones near the towel! They were huge!--the one standing was born about 1 entire HOUR before the other 2!--very unusual)

It's been a great day!Grand total sits at 8---so far!

Thanks Marie!..Yes, a very exciting, victorious day!
Elke..thanks! :D I am still in pain in my lower back, butt and upper thighs...and I am not sure why. I feel as if I was doing squats all day..though I know I wasn't..I think it is related to the stress.
They are so cute Sarah! Thanks! :D
 Issy... yes, poor thing! We named her Queen after she birthed those babies! :hat:

Also I think, it could be the stress.
You should give yourself a bit time to recover.

Oh Cheryl, how EXCITING!!!!! I wish I was there to see them. I'm so glad you posted such amazing pictures. I know it's very hard and stressful work, but I expect you're very relieved that she adopted the other baby.
Congratulations!
