Salvation, Jesus Christ, Christmas, Love
We are bombarded daily, hourly with negative news.
When you watch television, listen to the radio, read the newspaper...Is there ever any GOOD news?
Over 2000 years ago the ultimate in Good News
hit the presses!
This long awaited news break finally came about as it was prophesied time & time again...
The birth of Jesus Christ!
This was no fable, not a fairy tale..this event was historically documented. Though the history books won't say this, I will...
The Son of God was born!!
Why is this Good news? (I can hear some of you asking this.
)
Glad you asked!
This is good news becauase after hundreds of years of man trying to live up to God's standards and failing... God, in His great Love for all mankind provided a way for us to be reconciled to Him. To be able to have communication with Him.
You might have read a lot of the Old Testament in the Bible...and been terrified
of this God Who seemed to take pleasure in destroying entire races of people. (I know I used to be on of these terrified people)--- Believe me, He took no pleasure in destroying them. He was, and still is a Holy God....and couldn't have sin come into contact with His presence...(I won't go off in this direction right now...)
You have been mislead my friends (if you believe this is how God is), totally and utterly misguided!
The simple Truth is this:
Jesus, God's only son, sent by God to be a Living example to demonstrate Himself- His attributes, Characteristics, His LOVE..on the earth--to demonstrate His Great Love for us...and by us simply believing the Lordship of Jesus Christ--we have been given BOLD & CONFIDANT access to a Loving Heavenly Father.
Jesus said these words while He was on the earth...it was prophesied in Isaiah (61)
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings
to the meek, the poor, and afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound,
to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor]...."
This may sound like a cliche...but,
God Loves You!
I don't care who you are, what you have done....He Loves You! There is freedom in that Love, There is freedom from bondage, guilt, anxiety, fear, worry, sickness, disease, poverty...
What other god can offer you that? What other belief system?
Believe me,...absolutely None!
I prayed today that the Holy Spirit would guide me in writing something about the Birth of Christ since we are coming up to Christ-mas time.
So you might see, that when the angels appeared at Jesus' birth and sang, "Glory to God in the highest, Peace and Goodwill towards man"...it wasn't just a cute song that we sing about at Christmas time..this is the Truth of God's purpose in Jesus's birth.
Peace & Goodwill are available in Christ!
Salvation is available to anyone who calls apon Jesus and declares Him Lord over their lives!
May we, like Mary, be so humble and say, "Be it done to me, according to Your Word." (Luke 1:38)

Snow, Boxing Day, Christmas, Winter
After a whirlwind of activity and family & friends...I find myself sitting here somewhat refreshed. I actually had a snooze for about an hour after the inlaws left, taking 2 of the children for an annual sleepover!
We had dinner with my hubby's side of the family yesterday-Christmas. It was so much fun and we ended our time with a rousing game of Rumoli.
It was a blast!
Note to people out in Opera land...don't play cards with my mother in law if given the chance...she changes when put in a card game..I mean, talk about the Jekyll and Hyde syndrome.
In all seriousness...she is so much fun! I love her to bits!
Santa came to our house in full splendor. I was spoiled...I must have been a good girl this year.

I am typing this as I listen to my new MP3 player. I love it!! Also, I was given a really hip outfit from Old Navy...a "For Better or Worse" comic (tradition in our house), and a really really adorable pair of fleece pj bottoms from a specialty stand in the mall. It has rubber duckies printed all over them. Unfortunately the pants were an Extra-Small...for which I am honored [a friend of my hubby bought them for me in his stead)...but I am NOT an extra small. (they fit, except they were way too short!!
] My daughter Amanda is returning them for me as the mall is closer to where the inlaws live. (about an hour away)
Amanda bought me 2 pairs of earrings...and she made me an adorable ceramic chicken ornament in school. I love it! You really can't go wrong with me when it comes to computer related-chicken related-fowl related gifts..oh ya, clothes too of course! I am pretty predictable.
Here in Canada, Dec. 26th is called "Boxing Day".
Boxing Day
The day after Christmas, the Feast of St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, is better known as Boxing Day. The term may come from the opening of church poor boxes that day; maybe from the earthenware boxes with which boy apprentices collected money at the doors of their masters' clients.
Nowadays, we often see, in certain families, gifts (boxes) given to those who provide services throughout the year.
"Boxing Day" is listed in the Canada Labour Code as a holiday.
We have been experiencing unseasonal temps the last few weeks...and pretty much all the snow we got was gone.
This morning we woke up to this...
It was beautiful!! Unfortunately it was mild and a lot of it melted, but hopefully we will get some more and it'll stay.
Anyhow...I just thought I would pop in and say "hi"...see you soon.

Funny, Christmas
I have started listening to a local radio station, Majic 100...they play Christmas music all day, everyday until after Christmas. I love it.
Well, their morning show is usually so funny. This morning, the geese were at the window again...and I had the brilliant idea to phone in the show. They invite people to call all the time... Well, I am the "call of the day"...
I use to call into this station often a couple of years ago...and was the "call of the day" many times.
(I have a knack of being quite "silly" and playing along with sillyness, and putting myself "out there" to be the butt of a joke...I think it is an inherited trait
)
Anyhow...this time..I was outside and had Lucy & Matilda talk to Kevin & Bill. It was humorous.
It has been so mild here, the geese love the rainy warm weather...so that was incorporated into the conversation.
Anyhow...I thought it was pretty exciting & funny so I thought I would share.

Have a great day!!

Dentist, Cooking, Tree, Christmas
Here is the finished tree.
My kids did all the decorating.
I really don't care what it looks like but every year I am surprised at how nice it turns out.
Peter is the one who puts the lights and the garland on before it gets decorated.

I had a dentist appointment today...a previously broken then fixed tooth, broke again.
So, the dentist fixed it, no charge.
I stopped by to see Peter at work right after and he guffawed
when he saw me. He said I looked like Jean Chretien. (former Prime Minister)

Niiiiiice.
Since my mouth was frozen on one side I looked like a stroke patient.
No cookies for him tonight.
I also managed to cook, slice & make gravy for a 26 pound turkey for tomorrow. My son's grade 8 class is having a potluck luncheon. I thought I would do my classic, poultry in gravy dish.
SO...now I just await my children's arrival home from school. Have a great evening everyone!
