The Wind-She Blew!

Wednesday, January the 9th @ 1 p.m. EST----We lost our electricity!
The winds were so strong, that apparently, near Brockville Ont., the wind knocked over a transport truck on one of the bridges.
We went without electricity for 25 hours total!
It was restored back to us yesterday @ 12:30 p.m. Went off again at 1 p.m. then back on @ 2:30 p.m.
I went into the barn--the dark barn..and told the 2 very preggo goats to hold on until we had power again.
They complied...and are ready to pop...I am on baby goat watch!
Though today, the children have a 'snow' day--so they are home. It has been freezing rain all morning!
If it's not one thing, it would appear, it's another!
But, ya know...I was patting myself on the back the other night. NO electricity...I thought, what are we going to have for supper?
We have a wood stove..not a cook stove..but, it gets blooming hot, so I could fry something on it.
I put the frying pan on it, with some butter inside..and made the kids some scrambled eggs with ham pieces, and melted cheese on top!
Then, for Peter and the oldest 2, I put on a pot with some leftover spaghetti from the night before.
Here are the 3 youngest enjoying their dinner. It is quite dark except that the flash made everything look bright.

We don't have water when the power goes out, except for what's in the tank in the basement.
So that was another issue. Again, THANKFULLY, after my bath I had the incling, not to drain the tub.
It made for water to flush the toilets with...and to wash our hands with.
I still managed to send the lot of them off to school yesterday morning--despite the lack of power...I am glad I did, since they are home today!
Have a wonderful week-end everyone!

there are places where electricity is still a luxury.
But still you are always welcome to visit my home any time.
