From One Chick to Another..

Where under His Wings I find refuge.

Changes...

Good Monday morning!
Today is the beginning of change! --for us anyhow.
My husband started a new job today. A better job. Better salary, chances for promotion, and way better benefits.
He was with Canadian Tire Corp. for the last 9 years..so this is a big change for us.
Now he will be working for Waste Management. He will be working on the maintenance of trucks and heavy equipment.

This morning I have been enjoying the beautiful sound of 'Cockle-doodle-doing' in the yard.

We haven't had a rooster for about a year now..so it is a pleasant sound. We picked up 'Roo' on Saturday after spending an afternoon with my mom. (it was her birthday on Fri. and Mother's Day Sunday--so we spent Saturday with her.)

I found an ad on Equistation.com for some roosters looking for a home. He was living near my moms so we thought we would pick him up on the way home.

He sure is a handsome fellow. Still young- 6 months old...& hopefully he'll be a keeper. If he gives chase to one of the children..or myself..even 1 time! :chef:

Yesterday my children surprised me with my favorite perfume for Mother's Day.
I discovered this brand one day while I was browsing perfume's with my daughter this winter. I love to try new one's--& this one really stood out...I just love the fragrance!
My daughter remembered and they all pitched in to buy it for me for Mother's Day. Thoughtful, isn't it?

I just adore perfume. I love a good fragrance!

Also..I have a wedding cake to plan for for this week-end. Through word of mouth from a customer...this young woman called me up--sight unseen..never to try a cake from me...and ordered a wedding cake.
I am honored.
I also have 3 more, so far, to look forward to this season. It's amazing. I vowed never to delve into wedding cakes..& lookit me now!

I was on the phone trying to reach a customer this morning and noticed my horsies out in the yard!
Sheesh. My poor husband forgot--AGAIN--to close the gate!!! :eyes:
The other day I came home from town and all the goats & llama were in my yard eating the new buds on the apple tree. p:
I think maybe he is a little distracted with the new job! It's alright..I ran out...all covered in my bug jacket---blackflies are HORRIBLE!!!---and coaxed them back into the field with a nice bucket of oats. Dozer LOVES oats! He came running when he saw the bucket..too cute.

Anyhow..this is just the beginning of new things..good things! Have a great day!

Happy Mother's Day!Ahh the Sweet smell of Spring!

As you wrote, Cheryl: changes are good! Best wishes to your hubby and his new job.

It seems, you are quite busy with your animals and open gates :eyes: and cakes and all that....
Nevertheless: I hope, you had a nice mother's day.  Can you describe the fragrance of your new perfume?

Thanks Sarah.

Elke...I describe the new fragrance as 'YUMMY'! flirt
It's slightly sweet..but not too sweet..with a hint of musk & a slight hint of spice. What I love is that I can still smell it this morning.
It's really YUMMY! :D

Congratulations on the new job! That is great news!!! I worked at Canadian Tire too for a short time when I got out of school. It was a fun place to work, but no real opportunity for any advancement. He'll probably find the new job a lot more interesting and fulfilling.

I love your new Roo!! He really is beautiful! I wish we lived closer - I have one just coming to maturity and we are all roostered up at the moment. He's trying to compete with the big guys but he's not winning. I feel bad for him sitting all alone.

What a wonderful mother's day gift!!! Now, with Peter's new job (and more money) and fancy new fragrance - you'll be all set for a night on the town!

Congratulations on the cakes - you're a pro now!

And as for the gate - I think men have some kind of gene that prevents them from ever learning how to shut a gate, a drawer, a door or a closet.

or a Toilet seat!
(though I have my man well trained in that dept. )
Thanks Lois!
Yes..Roo is beautiful. I really don't want to name him. I have named way too many beasts and I think Roo..is fine.
Aww..Yes..I would have helped you out with your poor guy.

I sprayed some perfume on me after my bath this morning. I had no where to go--but I love to smell good.

I managed to get 3 more orders for this week..just today. :eyes:
Though..I have been praying for more business...I guess I better be ready! :D

Be careful what you pray for, Cheryl, but I'm sure you'll be up for the job. Wonderful when you're recommended by satisfied customers. Hope your husband enjoys his new job, I never hesitated to change employers and was usually happy in a new job. and Roo looks up to his new job too, a handsome fellow for sure. Glad you had a nice weekend, I don't covet your fragrance though, many years ago I developed a dislike for fragrance - probably not an allergy. And aren't having critters around a lot of fun :D If the gate had been closed you'd have missed that bit of entertainment.
