News: Hijacked Browser Search Pages
Oh boy, I spent a good part of the day trying to fix hijacked browser search pages in all my browsers.
No matter what I put for a search term, the description was accurate but the links were masked and took me to some junk sites like "coupon something" or "anti-virus scan sites".
For instance, search term "My Opera", this is what I received.

freescan.antivirus.com/opera.html - 15k - Cached - Similar pages

The My Opera is correct, the description is correct but the link is masked and directs you to the "free scan" site. Notice the "freescan.antivirus.com/opera.html". If I clicked on My Opera I would go to freescan.antivirus.com.

I do not know how I got it because I am careful on where I go, what I click or install, etc, etc, but somehow I got it. The amazing part, my anti-virus missed it, spybot missed it, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware missed it and f-secure root kit missed it. Heck I even used another anti-virus vendor to no avail. They all missed it! As a last ditch effort before the dreaded "Format C", I tried ComboFix which seems to have accomplished the job.

It's a jungle out there!

Ice Storm

As of late, the weather starting in November to the present has been very rainy and windy. The sunny days have been windy and cold. This has prevented my nature walks. It does not take long for a nice walk to turn unbearable when the wind rips through you. Most days a small craft advisory is effect. I am aching to go to the Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge which is on a peninsula to observe the Harlequin Ducks. However, todays marine warning, "The combination of cold temperatures and brisk winds will bring a chance of freezing spray to the waters". Not a good day to walk the coastline...brrrr! When the weather breaks, first chance I get, I'm off to the trails. In the meantime, a few snapshots of a recent ice storm taken with the Panasonic FZ28K. ===========================
=========================== An ice covered Blue Jay on an icy rock. One has to wonder how they make out in bad weather. He does look fine just the same almost unconcerned of the conditions. I need to obtained another tray feeder for these guys, the last wind storm broke it.

Playing with Wordle to make banners at the moment. I'll be mixing it up for the weekend :D

Although, the Tufted Titmouse banner is my main banner. I like it too much to have it not come back.

Photo Poll - What Do I Post

Photo dire straits again. This post is really a way for me to stall posting any photos :left:

I have not been out on any walks due to the weather of late. Besides the general busyness of life, November and so far December have been rainy and windy. Only a few sunny days. As a result, I only have a handful of new photos left (3).

Help me stall for time :lol: and take todays poll!
