It really does look like an old-fashion saddle!!!

Lovely shot!!!!! My eye is drawn to Sermitsiak in this marvelous panoramic! To me, I liked the contrast between the town and the natural formation for then I can more easily imagine how huge it is.

I think that is a difference between guys and gals -- you guys can size up things much better. smile

Keep the sensational photos coming, Duplo!!!

Happy Holidays,

Elly

P.S. Do you celebrate Thor up in Greenland?

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, December 11, 2006 4:19:30 AM

Hi Elly,

Thank you for your kind compliments
Well I am not sure size is the right wording perspective perhaps is more correct.

But you are correct that you do not have anything to measure it against in this photo... Perhaps it looks different when one has seen it in real life, I am not really sure.

I will do my best to keep them coming:)

I am not sure if they celebrate Thor up here... Aside from some of the ancient Inuit religions up here, the vast majority of the Inuits are Christians, actually the eldest Christian Church on the north American continent are located in Greenland (Source: Yooper).
Miss Duplo and I are going to Copenhagen to be with our family during Christmas.

Take care and Marry Christmas:)

Oh, so you have dogsleds???????? I love watching those!

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, December 11, 2006 6:04:02 AM

Not where I live... You have to be above the arctic circle... I am living just below...
But they are quite common in the northern part of greenland:)

The Greenlandic sleddogs are not allowed below the arctic circle...

Eliane a/k/a Ellymomable Monday, December 11, 2006 3:31:39 PM

How come?

Allanricewood Monday, December 11, 2006 3:55:59 PM

Great pano!

I think the perspective is emphazised by the shadows. Good looking!

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, December 11, 2006 3:58:10 PM

To prevent the race from bein "poluted" with genes from other dogs ... The Greenlandic Sleddogs are basically Wolves in chains... they are not allow near other dogs... it is some historical thing to make them perform better I guess...

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, December 11, 2006 3:58:48 PM

Thank you Allan:)

Eliane a/k/a Ellymomable Monday, December 11, 2006 4:04:45 PM

Can you sometimes get a photo of one? That would be brilliant!

Oh, I loved the shadows in the picture of the saddle, too!! It is a splendid photo.

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, December 11, 2006 5:19:17 PM

Hi Elly...

Look HERE.. there is a nice picture of one...

Thank you:)

Eliane a/k/a Ellymomable Monday, December 11, 2006 5:34:41 PM

OMG! That dog is so scary looking. It does look very wolf-like, except its coloring is so nice.

Looks much different than the sled dogs in Alaska that I have seen in movies and the ones they have here in Indiana.

Yes, sometimes in the State Parks of Indiana, you can come across someone mushing...

Thank you, Duplo!

Hi, Thomas - Your muse seems to be keeping you busy wink
Lovely picture - how many centimetre will you be if you were in the picture???
Good luck with the new challenges - I bet you will suprise them too!

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, December 11, 2006 9:48:06 PM

HI Elly,

Well wolves can have very nice colours too I think...
Well it is a very special breed of dogs we have up here and they are pretty strick about keeping it that way.

Mushing?

You are welcome by the way:)

Take care:)

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Monday, December 11, 2006 9:55:01 PM

Hi Hirokichi,
Thank you:)
Sermitsiak = My muse? well maybe you are right about that;)
Well to be honest I would not be anything near visible, even in the full size print (28.8 MP) I would be invisible...
I think I have more than a few times already, mostly good I hope:D

Take care:)

Eliane a/k/a Ellymomable Tuesday, December 12, 2006 10:24:31 PM

Mushing same as dogsledding. They say, "Mush, mush!"

Thomas Bojer EltorpDuplo Wednesday, December 13, 2006 1:19:17 AM

Ahh...I see... did not know that.

Thanks:)

Great pictures. You've got a good eye.
I'm learning how to insert pictures now.
For reasons I don't understand, my insert
picture tab dosn't bring up anything.
Thanks for sharing your pictures.

And a big thank you for the nice compliment:)

Hi there,

Thanks for the warm welcome, and expecially for the information. It's taken me a couple of weeks of fumbling around to get back to you; or notice that I had a message waiting. It seems that when things start comming together here in Opera, they really come together.

I've learned a lot about blogs in the last few weeks. It's gone from frustrating, to fun that short period of time. I'm currently trying to insert "virtual bubble wrap" into my blog. Like most things, it's taking a repeated effort to sort it out. It would be as satisfying if it went without a hitch. So no worries here.

While I've got your eye/ear I'd like to inquire about spell checking abilities. I'm a terrible speller, and can't seem to install Opers recommended spell checker correctly. Have you got any insight about spell checking, and mans place in the universe? If so I'd like to hear them.

Thanks for you help,

See you on the astroplane,

Loving life,

>Seth

Hi Seth,

You are so very welcome.

Well you are so right, when things begin to come together her in OC, then they really do so:)
I am sorry to say that spell checking is not something I do a lot. I have to get everything right at work, my blog is written without thoguht about spelling, well I do try to reread what I have written, but I do not have the energy to be spellchecking and all...

I am glad to see you have found you own pace here... Enjoy your stay and keep blogging:)

See you around and do take care:)

Thomas
